Dogs are sometimes strange!!!!!

Don't you ever think that dogs are strange sometimes? Well I do, my boyfriend has a female dog and its a boxer with another type of dog and whenever i go there the dog will no come near me only if daryl is with me. Sometimes the dog wouldn't even go near him if im with him. But yet the dog will let me take her for walks and play with her sometimes, its like the dog forgets who i am. I wonder why this is so, because i never ever did anything wrong to the dog. Is it because that kind of dog is a protective dog and is scared that I will do something to one of the family members?

Dogs are territorial. Your boyfriend's house is his dog's territory and, when you come to visit, you are initially invading her territory. She's not sure how to take that invasion so she can be skittish or aloof until you or your boyfriend do something to make her more comfortable. My dog is very territorial about me so, when my grandkids come over, she's on my lap if I'm sitting down or under my feet if I'm walking. When I'm holding one of the kids she looks at me like I'm cheating on her.
