Friday was my Christmas party at work...and we played games and all that and ate some really good home cooked food and competed for door prizes. One of the games was where you had to roll dice until you got doubles then put on gloves and a scarf and begin unwrapping this completely unwrappable present. WEll I was the second one called took me forever to get a double on thedice (totally against odds I am sure) and then before I had a chance to even attempt unwrapping someone else came up and took the gloves and scarf from me....well later on after the present was unwrapped (in each box was another wrapped box) until it was a piece of tissue paper taped together it was my turn again. I ran, and I never run. Got a double dice on the second try and grabbed the gloves and scarf and at first grabbed the wrong paper...everyone was like the other one. All I remember was one of my supervisors yelling "You got it, just grab the paper" ANd I could see the red paper inside... Well finally I got it open and it said "YOU ARE A WINNNER" I won a Philips portable DVD player...how awesome is this? I always wanted one but never thought to actually spend the money on it. I love the little guy....he's fun to have around and I can't wait to go on trips no so I can watch my movies. Yeah. So what interesting things does your company do during the holidays? Do you have a traditional party and gift exchange, get bonuses, or compete for door prizes?

How fun! Our company has a Christmas party and they ask you ahead of time for gift ideas for the little ones in your family. Santa shows up with a bag of toys and calls each kid by name and gives them their gift. If there are a lot of kids it takes a while but its still fun.

My company christmas party is coming up this weekend. There is usually home cooked food, karaoke, and we do the yankee grab bag for our gift exchange. The District Manager also gives out some pretty great cash prizes too, so it is definitely worth going. My wife's comapny goes so far as to rent a nice conference center, give out door prizes, provide a cash bar, rent a DJ to play music, have a photographer on hand to take photos, and they have a company cater the event. Last year they provided a bunch of cocktail shrimp and caviar in addition to the rest of the buffet spread. Since we have a 3 year old at home that is extremely attached to us we don't go out much the rest of the year. It is nice that we have at least these two parties to go to where I get to see my wife all dressed up and we go out and have a good time.
