Favorite holiday dish?

With Thanksgiving having just passed and Christmas right around the corner, I was wondering if you all have a favorite dish for the holidays. My family don't usually do too much for Thanksgiving, but christmas and New Years are a different story. On christmas we usually have A fresh fruit salad with poppy seed dressing.. very good! We usually has a pork tenderloin, which I love, and we have broccoli casserole and my mom makes homemade rolls..... aside from her spaghetti this is my favorite meal of the year. We usually have something similar for new years. My family is only my mom, my dad, me, my boyfriend, my aunt and maybe 1 or 2 other relatives that might come in or some close friends. I don't have that large of a family living near by. So how about you all? What special dish do you like that you only get this time of year? Or is there another time of year that your favorite meal is fixed?

It is really easy. You make the stuffing the traditional way. I use bread, celery, onion and sage or poultry seasoning. Mix all with a couple of pats of butter. The oysters must be fresh shucked and dry . If not, the stuffing will retain too much moisture. Add the oysters gently and bake. So so good. Sometimes I will make two. The traditional and the oyster one. Hope you try it!! It won't disappoint.

I don't like oysters.... so I don't know if i'd like it, but I'll give the recipe to my dad who loves them... maybe he will make it and I can try it.

My maternal Grandma used to make awesome prime rib, potatoes, etc. for our Christmas Eve meal, but she has since passed, so for the last 10 years or so, we all just bring an appetizer and/or dessert to share. This is a simple, but filling idea and we all contribute and can eat when we want throughout the night. On Christmas Day, we go to my paternal Grandpa's house and my uncle grills delicious steaks/tenderloin, even though we live in Minnesota and it can be quite cold and/or snowy. There is usually a salad and veggies as well. So for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, I indulge in the delicious dinners!

We have the Traditional Turkey, dressing etc. on Thanksgiving but on Christmas we all fix Italian dishes and eat with my mom & dad. We are so tired of the Turkey & trimmings by this time that we really enjoy something different. Cheese stuffed maniccoti is one of my favorites.

That sounds really good. I think I would like that tradition. I love italian foods. Spaghetti is my favorite, if my mom fixes it. I like rigattoni in butter and garlic, lasagna, and stuffed shells..... they have four chesses stuffed in them.. it's so good.
