Do you follow fashion trends when you shop?

I was out shopping at the mall yesterday. Me and my buddy walked into a clothing store. We looked around and glanced at what they had. after leaving, my boy says to me "The Jim Jones style is taking over the clothing racks". For those of you who don't know Jim Jones, he is a rapper. He usaully wears something like a tight button up with the sleeves rolled up and the sagging jeans with a big belt buckle on the front. Many of his shirts are also the military style button ups with the army patches on the shoulders and chest area. It seems like every time an artist starts to wear a particular fashion, all of the stores start carrying those type of clothes. I remember when another hip hop artist Lupe Fiasco came out a few yrs back. He was into the skate board look. The skinny type jeans with a chain connected to the pocket and the skinny type zip up hoodies. I went shopping that same year to up date my wardrobe a bit, and found that every store I went to were carrying mostly skate board gear. I became frustrated because that's not the type of clothing I was looking for, and I am not one to follow the fashion trend. I called my cousin and said to him " I know I'm getting older, and maybe it's just me, but I haven't been shopping in a while, but the clothes that are out today all suck". I went on to say how the whole skate board look is taking over every store at the moment. And I refuse to fall into to the fashion trend. It's like you go out and the stores are almost trying to force you into buying what ever it is they have.I guess the main point of this blog is that people in the music industry have a very big influence on how people dress. One artist does it, and before you know it all the stores are selling it.
