DSL connection booster...

Do you believe that there is a software which can boost an Internet connection? I have a "DSL Booster" software given to me by a friend. Do you think it really speed up internet connections?

I'm not sure if DSL Booster works. I've used TCP Optimizer and Cablenut. They did speed up my DSL connection a bit but they're too small to noticed. What i noticed was there's a time where you get very high speed then dropping very low. I'm not sure what it's called but they have terms about it like latency or whatever.

Hi there!
I haven’t really tried to use internet booster or so but what we have at home in our computers is a download accelerator program that allows us to download applications, files, music, games with fast speed. It gives us fast download. But the internet is still the same in terms of surfing etc… I guess, you can try talk to your ISP if they do have a free software that you can use to boost the speed. I heard from one of my friends that their ISP offers free software for fast browsing etc…, I don’t know if it really has an impact.

There are many softwares claiming to boost your internet speed. They actually can not boost download or upload speed. All they can do is storing and displaying frequently used items (i.e images, radio-buttons, etc) from cache (computer's temporary memory) instead of downloading again from internet.
This gives a very slight increase in diaplying of webpages which is hard to notice.

i don't think there is any type of DSL booster. if you have a 256kbps link then u cann;t get the speed of 384 or 512kb
then how it can faster ur speed
as the policy is fixed by ur isp.

The connection of your speed remains the same. The software only maintains the setting of your computer, browser ans disables those program which take up more internet speed and makes your speed go smoother. If you have a certain bandwidth then that's call you can get not more than that. But it does help you to surf internet faster as it provides multiple connections and speeds up downloads as well. It monitors your internet so that unnecessary things won't be used up to slow down your internet connection.

yes there is, but one thing i have remember and that is it depends on the bandwidth of the site being shared on the web no matter how speed you have but the site you are surfing have a very low amount of bandwidth still that won't work (knowledge about this very small but almost like that). remember that browsing a web and downloading are different. hey, try to tweak your browsing tool if you know some. this is all i've got... :-)
