Winter Storm Warning (Indiana,Illinois,Ohio)

You know, its kinda scary that we're having so much "winter weather" so early in the season this year! I mean, it's not even officially 'Winter' yet! I remember one Christmas day when it was 70° outside! Not anymore. Well, the weather these days IS all messed up. Who can say what their weather will be like this year? All I can say is that I live in an area that gets it all... snow, sleet, freezing rain, blizzards, you name it. We'll just have to batten down the hatches, hunker down and do our best through whatever is thrown our way. I do feel really bad for those who are totally shut in! That's happened to me once in my life; we got 5 feet of snow in a two-week period. NOTHING moved! I mean, we were all shut in for 3 or 4 days until an ambulance pushed it's way through to get to someone. It was fully equipped with a very large plow on the front of it. Once I dug my car out from under the snow, I was finally able to get out and buy some groceries! Freezing rain is the worst! You absolutely cannot move! Well, you can't move the way you WANT to go. If you try to drive in it, you'll end up somewhere you most definitely do NOT want to be! The only thing anyone can do is to keep an eye on the weather predictions and prepare in advance with enough food, water and dry goods (toilet paper!!!!). Also, don't do anything you don't have to do that might put you in a position where you'll need to be rushed to a hospital! Something like being careless with fire or climbing a ladder where you might fall and break a bone, etc. Make sure you have enough of your medications and whatever other supplies you normally need. I'll have to go peek at the Weather Channel now. Storms in Indiana, Illinois and Ohio generally head our way pretty quickly. Ugh! I hope everyone is safe and prepared during this winter storm! Hi Chevee, I hate all those bad weather like that, I feel for all those people who do suffer because of bad weathe, so I hope all the people in those areas will stay tight indoors and be safe, thanks for letting people know, if they don't listen to the weather forecast they will see your discusssion on mylot so thanks. I hope that mylotters in your area would not be affected so badly. The weather in Malta is very much different from yours. Here it is cold but we don't have any storms or heavy rain up till now. © ronaldinu 2008

I live in Missouri. We have been having decent weather here lately, but I had not checked the weather report for this week. You got me curious, so I am looking now. It looks like the high here today is going to be around 54 with maybe some rain tonight. No snow at all in the forecast till Friday. And then rain all next week. They are even predicting a day of 60 degree weather.

hey, where's the winter weather? All we're getting is rain.

That actually sounds pretty exciting. Especially if you can watch it all through a secure window or something so you don't have to be cold and wet! We're expecting scattered showers tomorrow, with temperatures in the 80s. Miami's weather is almost always pretty boring, but at least the only place it gets really cold is in an over-air-conditioned building, and we can always walk outside to warm up! C'mon down!

It has been raining here all night and is still raining. It is actually warmer than it has been in a few days. I hope it does not get too bad here. I have plenty of food and stuff though. so we should be all right.

Thank you Chevee, I live in Illinois and we already have snow on the ground and today it is raining, so there are some patches of ice. Later today it's going to change to snow. Last winter we had a big ice storm, just about everything was frozen with ice.

I hope that the bad weather doesn't really hit us bad until late late this evening. We live in the NE Ohio area, and I have to work late tonight. It's going to be late when I get home...like 2 AM.

I am from the South also, we don't normally get that much bad weather, but when we do, everything does shut down.. We are "weather wimps", I can hear the majority of us now, "It is tooo hot, It is tooo cold, It is toooo just right", we are never happy.. Don't jump on me you Southerners, I am very bad about it also.. I am glad that we do have good weather and I feel for the Northerners who get the bad weather.. Take care everyone and stay safe..

oh my. i forgot to ask my aunt in ohio today if it was really that bad. i live in AZ but have many relatives in ohio. guess this is the only good time to be here. even tho i miss ohio.

Well,thanks for warning, but I live in the south of China, the weather here not very cold, even without rain, of course, people here never see snow falling. Well, just keep warm! Good Luck!

sounds alot like where i live. im sure it is the result of the same weather system too. living up in toronto, canada here, and we got snow coming tonight and into tomorrow. not sure if we are under a warning yet but it is in the forecast for sure! be safe everyone!

Here in Minnesota we have a Winter Weatjher Advisory. Snow with blosing snow. Got a few inches over the weekend and getting 3 to 5 more inches by 6 Tuesday night as well. I love it but hate that I have this ugly small red foriegn rental car not MINE! It takes a couple feet of snow in a days time to close down Minnesota roads actually. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I hope it's not as bad as they think...for the people who live there and my hubby and his crew. I'd hate for a bad storm to hit somewhere and them be away for Christmas! I'd also hate to think of people being without power over the holidays!
