These are some amazing things i found out about babies, anyone know some of or all of them? 1. Babies will normally double their weight by the time they are 6 months old 2. Kilogram for kilogram, babies and toddlers are actually stronger than an ox especially their legs. 3. Babies’ `eyes are nearly always blue or blue grey at birth but can change within days of being born. 4. All newborns have a natural swimming ability, but they loose this instinct very quickly after birth. 5. No matter how much a baby cries, the eyes do not produce tears until they are between 6 and 8 weeks old. 6. Babies are born with poor eyesight but by the age of one week they can identify their mothers by smell and also learn to distinguish different sounds quickly.

I only knew some of the facts you listed, it is interesting to know about these. I am currently pregnant, and I will check if my baby is double his weight when he is 6 month old. Yeah, I know that the babies have poor eye sight when they are just born, they are better in smelling, especially the smell of the mothers.

byola2871, yes, I do notice some of the interesting facts on my infant! 1. My baby double his weight when he is 3-months-old. 2. Yes, his kick is strong! It hurts when he kicks me! 3. No, my baby has brown eyes since the day he is born. 4. I read this somewhere, but never dare to throw him into the pool after he is born. 5. Yes, yes, yes! I get so excited when I see he cries with tears. I mean it is a sign of growth and developement! 6. Agree! I tested on my baby eye sight. After week, my baby can see the distance a 15cm.

Thanks for the interesting facts that I didn't really know of. Actually I think I did know about the eyes being blue at child birth and as I look back I do remember when my son was a baby at a certain age when he cried I didn't see the tears. My son is now five years old and sometimes I look back with fondness in the early and new days. It is hard to become a new mother what with the diapers, the midnight feedings and all of the demands. It is all well worth it now and the time with our children goes by so fast and now my son can do a lot of things for himself and also has a lot to say! Also has a bit of a temper too. That is interesting that newborns have a natural ability to swim. My son actually has retained the bad eyesight you are speaking of since being an infant and it just so happens that he wears a pretty strong prescription now. I believe that just falls into the category of being hereditary because his father wears eyeglasses. I am sure a lot of members will appreciate your topic today. It is always good to learn something new. Take care.
