I like good news stories, don't you?

The news can be so depressing and disheartening at times. Sometimes, the gist of the story is so horrible that all I read is the headline and nothing else.
But, then are the times when a story pops up that I just purely enjoy (like one I posted yesterday) because it makes you either feel good ABOUT the person or FOR the person.
We know that winning a lottery can be a mixed blessing, mostly determined by how the winner handles him/herself after winning. For instance, if you win a million dollars and by yourself a million dollar home because you can, just how long are you going to be able to stay there? Taxes will be astronomical, utility bills as well since it's probably just a tiny little bit larger than a shack. Those people end up worse than where they were because they overextend themselves.
Others have been quite wise and have sought financial help before claiming the prize so they know just how to make the money last while being able to do the most with it.
Personally, I am happy when I hear that people who have struggled all their lives making a living but who are otherwise happy in their lives have won. Sometimes someone who is "poor but happy" wins. I am happy when they do (provided they go about it wisely). I am also happy when someone who is retired wins. Some retirees have a pretty good nest egg, but others get by, but can't afford much more than living expenses and the occasional small luxury.
Here's a story about a nagging wife and a craving for sausage in New Zealand that should make you smile. It did me.

Wasn't that cool? Can you imagine? "All I wanted was sausage!" Classic!!

Hey jerz! Wow! Can you imagine that! What luck! That is some
kind of story! All she wanted was a sausage! A couple of
years ago someone won 17 million at the store right down
the street from where I live! I used to shop in there just
about everyday for something, but I never bought a lottery
ticket! My boyfriend plays those Scratch Off things and
drives me nuts! He wins $20, $10, $5 and will win $40 and
run back to the store and buy some more and lose! If I won
it I would stop! He just can't stop himself! One time he
won $10 and I grabbed the money out of his hand and ran!
I just don't feel like I would ever win so I don't play. He
thinks he's going to win the "big one"! Well I believe it's
people like those people in New Zealand that win. The ones
that just don't really think about it and they do win!

Yes that is good, you don't see many good news stories, I don't buy newspapers anymore and i hate the news on TV these days as it is nearly always bad news, they seem to like to make the bad news the big headlines, it brings me down a bit so i don't read them either..
