How well are you in public speaking?

I totally suck at this area. I'd rather die than speak in public. Talking in front of everybody makes my nervous big time. Not only in front of people but also as few as inside the classroom to recite or give answers to a question asked by a teacher. Can't you believe that? I was the worst there is I thought, but recently entering myself in many school organization boosted my confidence a bit and little by little I'm gaining a hang of it and can already recite inside the class without stammering. How about you are you a good public speaker?

hi unah. that is completely understandable. more people fear public speaking than snakes, accidents, and riding motorcycles. i think you did well by entering in school organizations and practice speaking in public. there really is no secret in overcoming your fear. you just have to do it. i can say that i speak well in public and that it is one of my best assets. i got this by practicing, practicing, and practicing some more. of course it helps a lot if you know what you're talking about but basically it really comes down to being prepared psychologically and mentally. hope this bit of information helps you out. happy mylotting and cheers!!!

Very informative and I appreciated you sharing your own experience here Allen. I fortunately got good at speaking now, I'm also happy and at the moment I'm still developing more of my speaking skills so I could talk in front of a much larger crowd when I'm already practicing my career...

Hi. Unag08. I am not that well with public speaking at all. I have been nervous for many years. I took Public Speaking up in high school and it helped me a little bit. I did not feel so nervous. When it was time for me to stand up in front of the class, I was scared as I don't know what. It was just awful! In my mind, I can speak without being nervous, but when it is time for me to do so, I get nervous all over again.

That is great that you are gaining confidence and abilities :) Eric Perhaps use the "funnel approach" for scheduled speeches?
