United States

We had a small vacation last week to Washington DC and Atlanta. First we went to DC and could see the white house (from very far), capitol building, smith sonian castle and museum. It was really good to visit the museum and really informative for the kids. They have bones of dinosaur (i am not sure whether those are real!!), a small aquarium, group of mammals etc.. In Atlanta we went to Stone Mountain, where we saw a beautiful carving of horses and people sitting on it, in a single mountain. We also went to coke factory and could taste the coco cola from different countries. Overall it was a wonderful trip. Have you been to DC before. which places do you think is good to visit with kids. Any suggestions for our next trip????

I currently live in the Washington DC area and I am happy that you visited the place. There are a lot of things to see and do in the district and it's good that you were able to visit a few. I haven't been to Atlanta, Georgia (well been on their airport though when I had a connecting flight there once) and would definitely put it on my to go list.

I forgot to put my suggestion on your next trip. lol If you want, you plan to go to the DC area again, you might go further into Maryland and Virginia. These two states are not far from the district. There are things to see in Prince George's County Maryland which is a metro train away. visit Baltimore in Maryland, about 40mins from DC or Old Town Alexandria in Virginia, which is also a train away from the area.

I lived outside of Washington, D.C....in Maryland...for almost 50 years so I know our nation's capitol well. Yes, those dinosaur bones are real. The Air and Space Museum was always a favorite with my kids and I used to like going to the Washington Monument and the Viet Nam War memorial. You should also take a trip out to Arlington National Cemetary. If you go in the spring you can see the Cherry Blossoms, which are lovely, and the weather is warm enough to take one of the many cruises they offer along the Potomac River. There's also the Old Town Trolly which is fun.

It depends how far you want to travel. I would go to Monteray CA and see the aquarium which is great it is huge and takes hours to go through. Very informative of the pacific ocean. I would go to Yosemite National park and see the beauties up there. I am partial because I was raised up there. I would also go to see the May Flower boat that Columbus came over to the USA on and the first settlement the first settlers built. It is great people are in period costumes and play the part. We loved it there is American Indians. We also ate at the first restaurant in the new world in Boston Mass. and walked around Boston and saw Fenton Hall and the Old North Church. Great trip. The UN is tour is great also In new york. I hope this helps you.
