I just bought a Canon rebel xs with a 18-55mm and 75-300mm lens yesterday and it should be here before christmas. I picked the canon XS because it fits my needs of what i'm doing for now.. until i start making money then i'll upgrade to something even better in a few years. and although there is a newer model of the XS which is the XSI but its about $150 more and you don't really get anything more. it has a few things more then the xs but the xs has stuff that the xsi doesn't have..so for the price i picked the XS and i can't wait to get it and start using it. i know i'm going to love it. i'm upgrading from a kodak p850.

I got the camera for a total of $450 off amazon because its on sale and they have a deal going on now where you get the 75-300mm lens for free, as you get $150 instant discount when you buy both of them...making the lens free. and the best feature on the camera... hmm.. i am not really sure yet. I know it has unlimited shooting. so i can just shoot till my card is full. that is one of the best features i think.. i use burst mood a lot, so having something like this will be very useful to me.

I just bought a Canon eos 1000 and i was going to buy antra large zoom to go with it but I was shown a 200mm lens and I liked it so I bought thar as an extra, I take photos of bands that need the best quality pics and from what I have been told zoom lenses lose a little quality so the 200mm lens suited me best...and i have just bought some close-up filters for the smaller lens...I love my camera, DSLR is the way to go for sure..

One good thing is you can add to your camera as you have the money, the filters didn't cost too much i bought them from Ebay...just start off with your camera then work towards adding later on...

I use a Nikon D300 DSLR. My favorite feature of the D300 is the 51 point autofocus with 3D tracking. This means that pretty much every single one of your photos is in focus. It also means that if you focus on a subject that is moving, the 3D tracking will predict the movement of your subject and adjust the focus to compensate. It is so amazing! I took it to the race track, and the focus on the horses is so crisp and clear! I also like that my camera has a self-cleaning sensor. I change lenses often, so I get a lot of dust on my image sensor. Running the cleaner on my camera has made a HUGE difference in removing dust spots! I love it! Another fun feature on my camera that I use a lot is the multiple exposure mode. I know that you can combine photos in photoshop to create the same look, but what I like about doing it on camera is that you don't know what you're going to get! You get more happy mistakes that way! There are tons more features I love about my camera, but those are the ones I use the most.

hehe. nice kristine. finally i saw you here. why not ask Papi to buy you a DSLR cam as a christmas present? if i can answer this question, ill probably just have D60. one, its cheap. two, its handy. and basically i just want to have one for myself. if given the budget of course. last saturday, an acquaintance brought his d300. they said the body alone costs 5000 sg dollars! whoa!
