How terrorism can be eradicated?

Suggest any ways by which we can put an end to terrorism? There are lots of breeding grounds for terrorists like Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. Can the govt of those nations initiate actions against them? In case they are unable to do, can international powers like US, UK etc strike in their territory and prevent further damages done to the world by the terrorists residing in those countries?
