Is there really Tax Breaks for Married people?

considering i was married at 17 i have never filed taxes as single so i was wondering if married people really do get a bigger tax break or not?? i know i used to hear yu did but with taxes and laws changing i was wondering if its still that way or not.. and this is with out any kids involved.. anyone know?

Married filing jointly combines itemized deductions, counts as two base deductions rather than one, and gives higher tax credits. Kids are extra deductions!

yes married people if taxed as married get a break, and with children there is a bit more of a break, but single people don't have anyone depending on them so they are taxed the most.

ok so my mom wasnt wrong then... i never had to deal with it single and since i have never had kids that never was an issue
