How will you react if you meet people with umbrellas at night??

Few days ago while I was on my way home at night I came across three men with the umbrellas on and guess what it wasn't even raining. I was scared to think what this people are doing, I mean they never talk to each and they were walking slowly.
I was so scared that I even thought I just met ghost or some witches.
I even tried to follow them to look where they were going but because it was night and didn't know what they are up-to I just let them go, even now I cannot tell you what those people are or what they were doing with their umbrellas on at night.
At first I thought I was dreaming and didn't know if ever I should laugh and yet I'm scared of them
How would you react when you come across things like this??

Ha!ha!ha! That could really be somewhat scary. Imagine men in umbrellas when it is not even raining! What were they up to? Ha!ha!ha! If I were you, I'd perhaps think they are weird creatures and must get rid of them as fast as I could. Ha!ha!ha!

At first it was funny to me because i do think that this are clowns but then they were not talking or making any funny movements or something, they were all quite amd never said a word, i tried to follow them but i thought what if they notice that i am after them, what will they do and i got scared i just let them pass
Even now i cannot tell what was those things but from their movements i could tell that they were men but i could not see their faces because the covered themselves with those umbrellas. I think those were the ghosts
