I was shocked to read the news. Greed has no limits. However, he will get, in all probability, what he deserves. The idea I want to suggest and seek your opinion about is: Barak Obama should appoint somebody who has lost his job as a result of the present economic crisis and closure of several establishments. There must be many who are desrving among such people. What do you say?

As the previous poster said....Obama does not have the power to appoint the person who takes his seat in congress. The man that did have that power is now heading to jail for a long time for being really really stupid. I do hope he gets what he deserves. We have a handful of seats that will given up for cabinet positions so those states had better be careful. After this scandel they will be looked at pretty closely. I am not surprised or shocked. A lot of our elected officials are getting busted for greed. We need to make better choices when we vote people in because the group we have now are just the biggest group of thieves and crooks I have ever seen. That is from the federal level all the way down to the state level nation wide.

yes, it is not surprising or shocking.Corruption has come to be so rampant and pervasive nowadays. And you are right again when you say we need to make better choices.you know the old adage--we get the government we deserve. If we are more circumspect, such people will never come to the seats of power. Thank you for sharing your views.

Obama has no authority to choose his successor. But it would be interesting if someone was chosen from the umemployment lines. They couldn't be worse than some of the losers in the Senate today.

You are right, he cannot, in a way. What I mean is he should arrange it so that someone who ia deserving of this job and who has lost his job as a result of the recession.
