How can people be so dumb?

I bet a lot of you have heard of the song Lollipop by Lil Wayne, and what its message is.. if not, let's just say it is a dirty song. Well, here is something that happened today. Instead of going straight home from school I dropped into the library to find some reading material. I was looking for a book when I heard music playing and saw two girls who looked to be about eight years old, sitting infront of one of the computers. They were watching a music video on YouTube. From a couple seconds of watching the music video I could see that it was not appropriate for their age. I went a bit closer and saw they were watching the music video for Lollipop by Lil Wayne. Eight year old girls watching that video and listening to that disgusting song?! They wouldnt have been there by themselves.. their parents must have been with them... and they weren't even caring what their kids were watching on youtube?! It scares me about all the dirty songs that little children are watching. Even it scares me when older kids who know the meaning of the songs, still listen to them. For example there are all these teenage girls who listen to songs about abusing women.. how could they agree with such treatment to their own gender?

Personally it is the responsibility of the parents to monitor what there kids listen to and see it is not anyone else responsibility. You can not blame the radio, music like this has been around for ages with suggestive overtones and people have listened to it and enjoyed. Parents are always ready to censor things, when during there time none of this was there.

I agree with you in part. These kids shouldn’t be listening to this kind of music. I think where the parents erred is in leaving these kids unsupervised for so long however I would not say they were dumb. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they did not know what is in the song. To give LiL Wayne credit he did use a lot of metaphors in this song and if you are not a keen listener and someone who is informed of current trends ,it might escape your notice as to what he is singing about. The truth be told many adults rarely take time out to listen to modern music, so unless the lyrics are extremely suggestive with related imagery to go with it, they might not catch on. So lets write it down to negligence and ignorance on the part of these parent rather than a clear desire to corrupt these young minds.

Hello, Natara. I have never listened to the full song, but I know what is it about. And here in Brazil, lots of teenagers are listening to it. In my opinion, it is really bad. They sing the music like if they had no respect for themselves. This is not only for the girls, but the boys as well. People are all about doing dirty things nowadays. Where is the self value of each of them? They are just saying that they don't have any, by singing songs like that. I have no prejudice, though. It is their choice to listen to it. But I really think that some kind of parenting would do great to those children that you saw. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

In their age its better that parents should accompany them for mature videos are for mature persons and doing such thing is not reasonable. They are still kids they should know. Me? abusing my own gender is like abusing womanhood that kind of video must be deleted. i also disagree in such video. Men should act like men. Women are meant to be loved not to be abused by anyone, it is against the law of respect and womanhood. Women should always be careful in choosing their men. our womanhood should be respected by man, remember we are not born to be abused we are born to explore and be loved. Happy mylotting!

Well technically no, but still hip-hop consists of majority of those type of songs. And I have to say.. They're quite addicting. I listen to them alot myself.

it's called ignorance.. and most often ignorance breeds ignorance. we have free schooling here and no one (or barely anyone) takes advantage of even learning how to speak correct English so they don't sound like fools the second they open their mouth. I totally agree with you. Some of those songs and the lyrics are just wrong. And that just goes to show you that there aren't any family values being passed down either.
