Homeless dogs

About a month ago this dog (someone said it was a blue heeler) showed up on my carport. I tried to run it off thinking that it would go back home but it was determined to stay. We asked our neighbors if they knew the dog or who it's owner might be no one did. It was a friendly dog and the grandkids seemed excited to have it so we let it stay. Then last week a small dog, with a collar, showed up on the carport. Again we asked the neighbors but no one claimed this one either. It stayed on the carport for two days, pooping all over the concrete. Then it went away. I'm hoping its owner found it. This morning, when I got up, what do I see but a huge black dog, a lab maybe. Anyway, there it sits on the couch beside the other dog just like he had been invited. So, what am I running here, a shelter for homeless dogs?

The first one must have went and told all his friends what a great place he found to live :) It's really too bad that people don't treat their animals better. About a month ago, a kitten (about 12 weeks old) was dropped out of a car right in front of our house. We live right next to a highway. Poor little thing. So, we have adopted her, and it's obvious she's been abused. If you're sitting down, she will jump on your lap and be really friendly, but if you get up to walk, no matter where she is in the house, she will run and hide. She's obviously been kicked a time or two. She's not scared at all of my 2 year old though, so I assume whoever dumped her off had kids. She's very comfortable around my daughter, so I've been told it's her kitty :) But, kudos to you for adopting the dog. Don't feel bad about not being able to keep every animal that shows up at your house. There are other good homes for animals out there!

That's what I figured because that blue heeler runs all over the neighborhood. She's probably out saying "hey come over to my house cause I've found an easy mark".

That just shoes that ir is thru that dogs are very smart, that they can tell when some is bed or good hearted, so i would say these dogs can sense that someone in your house has a big heart and is a nice person...and probably your whole family does so your house has a lovely aura..

Yeah I can't stand to see animals suffer. The first thing my daughter did was go to the store and get some dog food.

Yes, the black lab finally moved on by himself. Now however there is a big red dog hanging around part time. I sure hope he ain't homeless too.

it is not advisable to let street dogs inside. have you checked the physical conditions of those dogs are they vaccinated for diseases. and they company of them coming is also dangerous soon your house could change in to shelter house and from experience i say it is difficult to take all of them out.

We don't let them in the house. They can shelter under the carport when the weather is bad. Other than that dogs have to stay in the yard because my youngest grandson is allergic and his daddy is asthmatic.
