If some one adds Tags to some one elses discussion that already shows...

up the 5 they always show will it add it and it be hidden or will it add them and show them as most recent?
like i make a discussion and put in all my tags for my discussion and they only show 5 then when some one replies it asks them to put in tags will theirs show up because they were just submitted or just be hidden or not do anything??
i hope this make sense lol.. but its been something i have wondered..

Only the first five tags will show up. Anything added after that si a waste of tiem. It does not hide them, it does not work. The added tags after 5 disappears.

I have been able to put in more than 10 before. But 5 have only shown up. I guess that is one of those questions we may never know the answer of.

I never really paid attention. But you can easily find out by monitoring one particular discussion and then see how it goes.
It would be interesting to know the results though.
Hmm... I may try just that to see how the tags actually work. Cos I tried tagging one of my replies, and then searching for it via the tag, I cannot find it using the search that mylot provided.

ive never seen them change and i always put at least five so i didnt know if they hide the rest or dont apply them or what

You start a discussion and put 5 tags.
Let's say , for example, you put tag1, tag2, tag3, tag4, tag5.
When you post these five tags will show.
Then along comes a user and puts tag3 and some other words.
Tag3 will then go to the left (the first in the list) as your discussion has been tagged twice with that same tag.
This is why, especially in the MEM section, you will see tags with 'reported' being the first tag. This goes to show that several users have used that tag on that one discussion (and probably reported it too).

No I did not mean to suggest that posting similar tags causes deletion at all.
MEM - MakeExtraMoney and I used that interest as an example for you to notice.
Users can add tags as they please and when the same tags are added they eill appear to the left of the list because those ar the ones which have been used the most.

MEM section? so if something is just entered twice as a tag it will get the discussion deleted?!!?

I tagged two discussions today when responding and neither showed up
Maybe it takes mylot a while to update. I can't remember both of them but I'm sure one was yours. I have added tags in the past and they show... not sure about the five thing and

To be honest I never thought much about tags. I always added tags to my discussions but I never worked it out how it works. All that I know that the more appropriate tags you have the greater chance that you will receive replies.

Well, I did not know there are only 5 tags in the discussion. I just heard about this from another discussion. Since there are already 5 tags in this discussion, I will try to add another, and see if my tag will be missing or it will be added to the list.

what im wondering is if it throws them away or hides them till they are entered in more by more people to where then it will show up because its a popular tag..
