i think im using a virtual server now but i was able to bypass it around both my hub and router (no its not only for gaming well that is if it is what i think it is if it is then its used for self hosting your own created website from your personal computer and i could have used a static ip to bypass it through but i found 1 that automatically does that) and i would advise not disabling the dns server (that is if your router is a linksys like mine) cause that is supposed to assign you an ip address that no1 else already has if you disable this it opens up the possibility that another person will have the same ip and then neither of you can get on the internet . (please note my info came from a site giving instructions on self hosting a website and included all info that i have posted here i have verified that some is true but have not tested all the information but at this time none of it has been proven false)

DDNS is "Dynamic Domain Name Servuce" DNS maps ip address to your computer name which is also call as domain name if has valid URL. if you are running any web service on your computer then you need to map ip with domain name like "www.mylot.com". since dynamic ip is provided by ISP (if no permenant ip add is taken from isp, which is costly) ddns does the maping of ip with domain name and keep tracking / linking with changing ip. vitual server - if you have any can be mapped on router for easy and secure access
