Hi Guys. I have been a huge Nirvana fan then and now. I was still a snotty kid somewhere in Southeast Asia when I heard the news that Kurt Cobain is dead. It was one of the saddest days of my life, even though I never knew the guy personally, his death left a huge void in my life.
I never did get a chance to see Nirvana live in person, as they never did make it to our country plus I was too young then. The only thing I can really do now is "make a pilgrimage" to Viretta Park, the so called "Kurt Cobain Park" and Kurt Cobain's mansion at 38th Lake Washington Boulevard E.
Last month my boss asked me to go to Seattle and stay there for 3 weeks. When I got there, the very first place I visited was Viretta Park, which is just beside Kurt's now for sale mansion. It was awesome when I got there, it's like I saw the same things Kurt saw when he was still alive, and probably felt the same vibe as he did. That is good enough for me.
I heard that fans flock here every year on April 5th to celebrate Kurt's death anniversary. I wish I could go there again on April 5th, just to meet up with true blue Nirvana fans. For all fans, I recommend you visit as well, and leave a message at one of the benches over at Viretta park.
If you have visited the place, share your story as well. I'm sharing some of the pictures I've taken of that place.
