The first tournament was held in 1992. Its a five over match and the team contains only six players. the wides and no-balls are given 2 runs extra. If one batsman hits a score of above 30, he should retire and comes back after all others have been out. Every fielder can bowl one over each. Have you seen this tournament in television.

Yes its different and very interesting. the ground is so small and any player can hit six with ease. The 2008 tournament was held on november. check their official site http://www.hkcricketsixes.com

I've always heard me the tournament but never watched it before. Seems interesting i dont like the idea of after reaching 30 you retire hurt.

yes, I have regularly followed the tournament. I was surprised to see that they used different type of ball which bounces much more. 20-25 runs per over is very common. What was most interesting to see was that the wicket keeper stood at the boundary line covering up for the fine leg & third man. Wonder if this strategy is legal in regular cricket?
