Did you think toothpaste was only good for shining those pearly whites? Not so... Here are a few other uses: Whitens sneakers - well now we can not only use toothpaste to brighten our teeth, but can also use on our sneakers! Clean rubber soles by rubbing scuff marks with an old toothbrush and non-gel toothbrush..brush away the dirt! *Deodorize your hands - you know that smell of garlic you can't seem to wash off, now you can! Squirt a blob of toothpaste on your hands and rub together, rinse and smell is all gone. *Remove crayon marks - this really works and I was amazed! Squeeze a small dab of non-gel toothpaste on the wall where the crayon mark is and rub gently with a cloth. Rinse with warm water and mark disappears, like magic! *Defog your goggles - can't keep your swimming goggles from fogging up? Coat the inside of your swimming goggles with toothpaste, then wipe off, and viola! No more foggy goggles! *Buff a DVD - no more worries over light scratches on your favorite DVD. Squeeze a little of non-gel toothpaste onto a cotton ball and gently wipe over the DVD from center to outer ridge. Rinse carefully with warm water and dry with a lint-free cloth and scratches disappear. Who knew toothpaste could me used on more than just your teeth? Do you have any other uses for toothpaste?

I also do the Elizabeth Taylor thing with an old no longer in use toothbrush and toothpaste: Buff and polish diamonds. OK well, just the two I have. These are great tips kellys3ps. Thanks so much. I am adding them to my collection. I really love the deodorizing your hands.

I have heard some facts about the uses of toothpaste and if I recall correctly I have also heard that it can be used to shine up jewelry. I have tried it before and it put a shine to rings and the like. It is very interesting to hear some of the uses that you have come up with. You have done good research here and I am sure that there will be some members here that will read this information and find it quite useful. I didn't realize that toothpaste can remove crayon from a wall. Did you also know that a pencil eraser can erase crayon from a wall also. I also didn't realize that the toothpaste can also be used to remove a bad smell from your hand such as garlic. A lemon can also help in the aid of taking away bad odors from your hands in which I have heard of too. Being able to take away scuff marks from shoes is a great thing because I for one could never stand those scuff marks especially if I have white shoes and they are new. I think that I might try some of these things that you are mentioning. I understand that in some cases that the non-gel toothpaste works better for some of the removals. Take care and thank you.

When I read this discussion. Flashback came to me when I was in my teen years. I remember using toothpaste to whiten my sneaker. Yes it's true that it can whitens not only our teeth but other things too. And ok I'll try it with my hands too, to eliminate the smell of garlic.

my idea of toothpaste use aside from cleaning my teeth is to use as a cleaning agent for silver accessories. it really makes my silver jewelries sparkling and clean. now that you mention a lot more use of it this makes me think how useful toothpaste can be. thank you for the ideas kelly, keep it up!

Good information on other uses of toothpaste kelly. I am more interested in removing the crayon marks on the wall since yesterday only my 3 year old son did his drawing on my living room wall. Well other use of toothpaste i know is that silverware, silver idols and silver ornaments get shining if rubbed with toothpaste.

Using toothpaste to buff scratches on DVDs really does work. I recently bought a six disc set and one of the discs was badly scratched and unplayable. I had nothing to lose, so I tried the toothpaste, and was surprised that it worked so well. You have to be carefull to clean off all the toothpaste because it does tend to leave a film.

Hi kelly. This is what I learned from my folks, when you get a skin burn from ironing or touching some hot objects put a toothpaste on it immediately. It does work well with me.

I use toothpaste to get rid of pimples. I put it on the zit at night while I sleep and it dries it out. It usually works. It's not an instant thing, but it really helps it. At least in my experience.

I even read that it can also heal simple burns. I think the baking soda is the primary ingredient that makes it so useful with all those cleaning and deodorizing. This is a very informative one you got. Thanks for sharing it to everyone here.
