varicose veins concern me

hello all! i just want you to know that varicose veins concern me. it is not so much as to the aesthetic of the thing, but i do know that varicose veins can be painful, especially when the weather is cold. so i would like to know of things that can best avoid them. so far, i have heard of rubbing some liniment on the legs and feet when one is tired and putting the feet up for improved circulation. well, my thought is, if i get a regular foot massage, it will also be good for my feet, and a massage feels better. anyway, other than invasive treatment, do you know of any other ways to avoid varicose veins? how do we take care of our legs? and by the way, does this problem only apply to women? i hope to get good and knowledgeable answers here. thanks and God bless you! merry christmas to you all! :-)
