Hi Friends.. Let me make Hinduism CLEAR to you. I am mentioning few things which I have understood and learnt in Hinduism. Hinduism is a Culture of the people living in the surroundings of Indus - Ganga River (India) Region. The name Hindu is derived from the River Indus (Sindhu). Hinduism is the name given by the people of other regions. We did not call our culture/religion Hinduism ourselves as compared to some other religions which call themselves by some names. Coming to the Principles of Hinduism. Its called Sanatana Dharma. It has: 1) Fulfill your duties (both personal and professional) 2) Do the duties/work without selfish desires. 3) Do not harm others, respect all, treat all as equal. This is the main Philosophy and Principle of Hinduism. Coming to Concept of GOD in Hinduism: ALMIGHTY is One and Only One. Known by many names. Known in many forms. ALMIGHTY is present in ALL (even in vacuum) and ALL are present in ALMIGHTY (even vacuum). Omnipotent Omnipresent Omniscient. God knows everything. Everything Happens at the will of GOD. GOD is energy, matter, time. Whenever there is considerable deviation of the people from the path leading to God, God will prevent the progress of the deviation in many ways. It may be sending a prophet, child (male/female not discriminated as in some religions) or sometimes the GOD Itself comes in many forms (Human or Non Human - no discrimination). God will never tell that you must follow only this particular path leading towards GOD as contrast to some religions. GOD will continue to send prophets/children/ or come in some form and will not stop it as contrast to some religions. (No concepts like Only Son, Only Child, Last Messenger, Last Path, Only Path etc) Coming to Prayers/Worshiping: GOD can be worshiped in many ways. You can worship GOD by giving it a form or you can Worship GOD in a formless manner. There are many paths leading to GOD. Even an atheist will reach GOD if he follows the Main Principle. There is no need/rule that you must pray to GOD. You can Reach GOD by just following the path said by GOD. And in the Path called Hinduism, there is NO Compulsion that you must PRAY to GOD or must worship GOD or must Read the HOLY Books etc.. You don't need to study Vedas, Puranas, Bhagavadgeetha to be a Hindu. Vedas are the books of Knowledge. Bhagavadgeetha gives you the guidelines about how to be in the path of God. So if any person tell everything in Vedas etc etc are myths and Stories or false, there is no problem. Because the Hinduism is not just by BOOKS like other religion. Hinduism existed before the books. And It does not affect the knowledge/teachings of Vedas/Bhagavadgeetha As they all have a Good Moral. You can follow any path that leads to God. God can be worshiped in many form. Now coming to concepts like Pagans, kafirs and one-way/dead end religion etc. is not present in the path called HINDUISM. 1) There is nothing like "other religion" in any Hindu Books and even in its Philosophy. So the Concept of Hinduism is for whole Humanity. 2) There is no concept called religious conversion as Hinduism is for all Humanity. 3) There is no restrictions that you must not change this path and follow other paths. 4) There is no restriction that once you get converted to this religion, you must not leave this religion. So the Path called Hinduism is Open to All. Concepts of Religious books being Complete, Pure, Final, Non-Editable etc. Hinduism existed before the BOOKS and It believes in Gaining and Updating Knowledge. So you can adopt the Good things into Hinduism. Write Your own religious books in according to the Main Philosophy of Hinduism. Coming to the So called Caste ism: Some books describe 4 Groups based on profession and it is misused and wrong interpreted as Caste. 4 groups are Brahamins: People with profession of learning, teaching, priests. There are many rules to be followed if a Person is to be brahmin. Kshatriyas: People with profession of guarding/maintaining the kingdom/people. Vysyas: People with trade/business as the profession. Shudras: The people with the profession of rendering service to the above 3 Groups. Some people misused and propagated wrong things about this concept. Some religions have differences among themselves But still claim there is no difference. Example: A person who gets converted into some religion is not given the status/post of Bishop/Imam/Pope/Saint etc. This is nothing but discrimination. A person who cleans the floors of a Church?Mosque is not Given a Bishop?Imam Post. Why? This is nothing but the Discrimination in Christianity/Islam. This is similar to the concept of Groups based on Profession (Varnas) in the Hinduism. In Hinduism they just discriminated the Profession, But in other religions they even discriminate the Race, color, region, religion etc. Any doubts can be asked and I will try to clear it by consulting my friends and responsible persons as my knowledge is as small as the electron compared to the Whole Universe. All comments are welcomed. Discussion Increase Knowledge. Forgive me for any spelling/grammatical mistakes.

Oh! I have known nothing about this religion before, as I just never really learned a lot about it. I would think it's a learning gap that a lot of us have. I'm glad that the basic Hindu principles are to treat all others equally and that God can be followed in more than one way, I didn't really think there were religions like that. What an informative discussion, I am very glad that you have posted it here!

This is a nice discussion. I have not read much regarding Hinduism, though I have heard that it has been a very peaceful religion. It is rather strange that even an theist can reach God, because an atheist denies the existence of God. So, I wonder why God would accept an atheist. I also do not believe God would come in huamn form, because God is infinite and unlimited . So, he would not be able to come into the realm of the limited. And I really do not understand how we can believe such and such is the incarnation of God. You see, anybody can tell a lie. But this discussion, I am sure, will remove the misconceptions of some people regarding Hinduism. You see, nowadays. it has become a fashion for people to mock other religions. They say Hindus worship cows, there is caste system and all that. But since you have explained caste system, I think the misconception is removed.

Hi Fredrick, Thanks for your doubts and opinions. Let me tell few words for your doubts/comments. 1)It is rather strange that even an, theist can reach God, because an atheist denies the existence of God. Even an Atheist can Reach God and God will help the Atheist to reach GOD if he follows the main principles. But why? See, God is there whether we pray/worship or Not. An Atheist does not believe in the existence of God. But if he still does good things, will God who cares for every one neglect him? If God neglects a Good person for the only Reason that He is not Believing in GOD, it shows God has Limitations, that GOD is able to help only his believers. GOD says to do Good things more than praying to him. God never demands that you must pray to me or I will not help you. If says so, that is not God but Satan. God's theme: "Do Good things, help others and follow the truthful path and I will help You" - There is Love and Almightyness in this. Satan's Theme: "You must pray me, then only I will help you, You must not pray to anyone else" - there is threatening and Satanism in this. God is indeed Infinite and Unlimited along with it, God is Zero and Vacuum also. So God is everything and God is in everything. You said: "he would not be able to come into the realm of the limited." This line goes against the definition/quality of GOD which says GOD is ALMIGHTY and Omnipotent. God is All powerful. God can Do anything. So why cant God have a human or animal form of incarnation? So If you believe that GOD is present in Everything and also Nothing, then Each person/animal has GOD inside it. But Some persons who exhibit special qualities/features can be stated as incarnation of God. Simple example: To be a Saint/Prophet, the person must do miracles. Similarly the person to be considered as Incarnation of GOD, that person must do many miracles which are of more divine/power of the Prophet. Misconception: They say Hindus worship cows: We worship Almighty God in the Form of COW. Cow is useful in many ways. It helps a lot in the Living of Indians. SO It is considered an incarnation of God. Now take this in this sense. If a prophet/saint can do some miracle, Cow is doing a miracle(even though its the feature of that organism) by providing many useful things and helping us a lot. So why it is wrong to consider it an incarnation of God by some people. Cow is not demanding to pray to it, even if you not pray to it, it still provides milk and other services till it can, and you are rearing it. But some Gods do demand to pray to it for help. So I consider its worth of praying to a cow (the praying to almighty through cow) rather than to the Gods which demands prayers as the cow is helping you without demanding prayers. Caste system: So you might have understood its based on profession. Actually it Got turned into caste system due to selfishness of some Brahmins of middle age era. In order to secure their income and life, they started to consider other Groups as Lower castes. Please ask if you have any doubts.

Thank you for the information. I have read few books abour hinduism, so my knowledge limited. It seems hindu concept of God is totally different from christian and muslim and thus, I am afraid many christian/muslim find it difficult to understand the concept. From what you explained about God, it is similar to what Neale Donald Walsh written in his three books 'Conversations with God- Part 1, 2 and 3'.
