At the moment I am pretty much at the weight I want to be, I had put half a stone on more or less and about two inches on my waist and legs and I was a bit upset because my jeans were becoming a bit tight, then a couple of weeks ago something happened in my life that caused me a huge amount of stress and when I get stressed I cannot eat, so I actually dropped nearly a stone and the two inches! Im ok again now but the weight has gone so I can relax a bit over chrimbo!!

Diet. I hate the word diet. I think that you should never use that word. I also think that you should not wait. If you put it off now, chances are you will keep putting it off. Don't go on a diet, just watch what you eat. Eat a little less than you are now. Drink more water and be a bit more active. This should help you see those extra pounds disapair.

Oh, yes...my butt will be getting busy in the new year. This year I plan to take a new approach though to dieting, by setting up small goals that I can reach each week. Example, week one will be to get all the junk food out of the house, along with watching what I eat and exercising. I plan to keep a food and exercise diary as well, that way I know exactly what I am doing. I'm like you I find I do fine on Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday is the day I usually blow it. I need to lose more than just a few pounds though, so it will take me longer to reach my goal weight.

If you want a really great FREE site for weight loss, check out SparkPeople. I've used it in the past and its wonderful! I found it easier to use than Ediets or Weight Watchers - and those charge you to use them.

My partner and I both need to lose weight, so we have devised our own diet. We both love soups, and we have been having a soup for lunch for several months. But now what we have done is to substitute our ordinary cooked evening meal with another serve of soup three days out of every four. Three weeks into this regime and I have lost 10 lbs and my partner 4. The beauty of it is that it requires no calorie counting, no starvation, no elaborate cooking needs, and with the variety of soups available, no boredom. Of course, if you don't enjoy soups, then you're in trouble, but I would simply say to that: be bored or be fat, your choice lol. Lash

We already had to start a doctor mandated diet. My husband just got out of the hospital due to congestive heart failure, so the last week since we got home we have been trying to learn to live without salt. Our biggest concession has been convenience food, because a lot of our favorites have salt. I'm not sure if my weight loss so far has been because of the diet, or stress, or being scared of stuff I have that is left from before the hospital trip that is high salt. Everytime I look at something, I worry about the salt content even for just myself. Sometimes I feel like food is a ticking timebomb. It is hard to gauge hubby's true weight loss, because they "drained" 25 pounds off him during the week in the hospital.

I am really tired of going on a diet. I have been doing it for ages and never seems to succeed. Like you I am not persistent and ends up in a yo-yo dieting which is shocking to my body. Maybe I will just control my food intake during this festive season.

well I've been on a diet all this past year, I don't like to call it a diet, I'd rather say getting healthier. I have lost 20 lbs. and I feel so much better, all my clothes fit better, I think what helps me to stay motivated is that I've finally found something that works for me, and I'm seeing results, so that makes me want to keep doing it and keep losing weight, I know if I stop doing what I'm doing, I'll gain the weight back, and I would have lost everything I've worked for.

Yes, I plan on starting a diet too on January 4, 2009. I could stand to lose about 10 pounds. I really want to try and get back into shape for the upcoming summer. I have neglected talking my long walks everyday and doing the treadmill. I was watching some of our home videos from this past summer and didn't like how I looked in my bathing suit. It's time to slim down and tone up.

Hi anne! Of course this no time to start a diet! It would be impossible to resist all those wonderful Holiday treats! There will be time enough after the Holidays! I have never been able to stick to a diet ever in my life! I am a yo-yo weight gainer/loser! I go up and down according to what's going on in my life! Not exactly the best way to lose weight but when I am upset or sick that's what seems to happen! When I am upset though sometimes I will stress eat so that is the opposite! I am just a mess! I find it really difficult to watch calories and since my main problem is cakes and sweets it is really hard for me unless I really set my mind to it. I had gained alot of weight at one point so I forced myself to exercise! That was torture because I don't like that either!

It is not so much a diet but body shaping I require will put that right soon once I can get out and start walking and jogging once again have had this flu virus for ten weeks and has reaked havoc on my tummy ,three kids and being fifty should not be a reason to look like a pear,so I shall be out there as well.and to add insult to injury had a bad back and sciatica in my legs for three months before I caught the virus so I new years resolution is to stay healthy,I can not understand it I always took excercise and eat veg and fruit like it is going out of fashion, plus the rest of the stuff for a balanced diet and avoided alchohol as well.It does not seem fair does it ,never mind .
