I bite mine and sometime almost to the cartilage. Most person claim it is a lack of something in my diet usually calcium ,I just think it is a habit that has comforted me on many a times. There have been many a time when I decided to let them grow and they have grown to a considerable height but then I have bitten them again because they always seem so tempting. CAN’T HELP MYSLEF GUYS LOL What do you think about persons who bite their nails and do you bite your and what are the reasons?

I used to bite my nails until two of them got infected from biting them, I bit them so much that at times I would look for place on one that I could bite. I think I did this out of habit, after I messed my nails up and seen how bad they looked I knew I had to do something to stop. What I did to break the habit of biting my nails was, each time that I was sitting and I thought about it I would put my hands under my legs for a while until I would forget about it. For me it worked, I haven't bitten my nails in about 20 years or so

i don't bite nails. i hate that habit. my brother that habit. i used to hit him when he bite's his nail. the best way to stop nail biting is by buying a nail cutter and keep that instrument in touch with your fingers. if you have nothing to bite you will stop biting.

I do that occasionally, nail biting. But I already stop doing it long time ago. When I'm nervous and agitated, sometimes nail biting is my only cure.

I normally do not bite my nails. I tend to do so whenever I am upset or nervous about something. I do not know why I do it only at those stressful times. I used to wear nail polish on my nails in order to deter me from biting them. Sometimes it helped sometimes it didn't.

people bite it and associated to psychological problems. Some will bite it when feelin anxiety, nervous feelings. They will try to bite it just to make themselves calm a bit. I notice it did it while i was preparing for a work report. oh yea, its nice feeling. But look, the nails is there and not to bite, so we can always find support not to do it next time. Find comfort with ur friends to relax u.

Yes, its just a habit. I don't think it is related anything due to diet deficiency. Anyways, I don't know its good or bad. But, I think can't quit it.

I don't bite the nails but I do bite the hang nail stuff on the side on my nails. They annoy me and if they snag something they could rip up to my skin and bleed. I have been told that the reason I get those is because I bite them off but I don't care, I can't seem to get past having poking pieces that are rough and sharp. My sister bites her nails and I believe it to be a bad habit. I have tried nail polish that tasted bad in order to stop but I just sucked it off and kept biting.

I am a compulsive life-time nail-biter who falls within a statistical subgroup consiting of 10% of adult males world-wide over 30 that bite their nails. Nail-biting is a universal mainstream habit practiced everywhere all the time throughout the anthropological history of mankind. Don't allow the propaganda against nail-biting deter you if you cannot stop and/or enjoy biting your nails. I don't bite my nails but when I was young, I used to love cutting my nails so much till it's really short. The nail cutter was too easily accessible as it always hang at the handle of my house sofa. hahahaha.... I had a really hard time when I want to start growing my nails but finally manage to achieve it. My trick is, I go for pedicure and manicure... Since I have to pay for the services, I would feel really pinch if I cut my nails after the services. ;p I actually learn this trick from my best friend where her husband has this habit of peeling both his hands and toenails. So she just drag her husband to do the pedicure and manicure. After the services, the hubby is real happy that it's so neat, tidy and 'blink-blink', he stop peeling them. hehehe... Happy mylotting

I bite my nails all the time. Not as bad as I used to. I used to bite them until they would bleed. I do notice that when I am nervous, or even bored, I tend to bite them more. I have does this since I was a child. It's such a disgusting habit. I need to stop, amongst the other, many vices I have lol.

I used to bite my nails a lot when I was younger. I would do it randomly, while watching movies or reading a book. Now, I am trying to do it less and less to get rid of the habit.

i do not bite my nails, mainly because i freak myself out about the bacteria that could be under your nails. you could possibly bite your nails because of lack of protein, it could be a early stage of pica, which is a malnourishment of protein that causes you to crave things that you arent suppose to eat, such as nails. although i do not bite my nails, sometimes i pick the nail off when i am bored, or nervous. i hate when i do this though because then my nails get really short and they hurt! i recommend getting the nail bitters nail polish, so you will be less likely to bite them. you'll get sick a lot less often!

Ummmm, no! I deal with my stress in other ways, biting nails: I never understood it, never did it. Maybe when I was a small baby, but then it was more like sucking fingers, not biting nails, right? ;)

I just can't bite my nails, so they get really long (the kind of length where people start feeling scared of them!! :P) I don't bite them, just because of something that happened when I was about 4 or 5 years old. I was waiting to get picked up from school by my mother, so I sat there biting one of my nails (as curious children do..) But soon my finger was bleeding! And it scared me so much that I've never bitten my nails since then. I do kinda chew on my nails though, but only when I've got nothing to do and I'm just fidgeting around. Because of what happened when I was little, I just can't understand people who bite their nails, and whenever I see anyone biting their nails, I cringe at it because I get reminded of that memory.

I'm not really a nail biter, but I can remember a couple of times when I did bit my nails. It was during the times when I'm absorbed with my thoughts, especially during those moments when I'm in the brink of anxiety. Most of the time it happens when I'm waiting for a dreaded result or outcome, and when it finally arrives...my nail biting episode will soon be over.^^

dont worry even i bite my nails and thats the thing done by many people may be that might be due to some dietary deficiency in only some but not in all. even i allow my nails to grow when i have to attend some party or so and immeditely after that i bite them and remove. some people do that only when they are nervous but some people also do that when they are idle. just biting the nails when thinking something or when they have nothing to do. not hing to worrry about the habit but its some how bad because when we bite nails the mud in the nails may enter the mouth and causes illness. better always remove the nails with a nial cutter rather than biting them.
