does holding hands in public mean they are ON?

i friend of mine sent me a message that they saw a common friend of ours in the mall holding hands with someone. that common friend didn't even recognized them when they bumped into each other in they mall. now as what i know of this common friend is not into a relationship but why are they holding hands? would that mean that they just hold hands for holding hands sake or there is something going on between that common friend and the company he was with. we ask our make friends about it and they come up with this thoughts. our common friend is hiding something from us, he is into a relationship but just denying it, and from a guys standpoint they won't hold hand in public for that would give people an impression that they do have a relationship with that person. what do you think? is he not honest with us? we won't meddle with his affairs if that's the case so why keep it a secret.

I find myself holding hands with a few chosen guy friends and they're just that, guy friends. We hold hands, I hold onto their arms... it's just that I feel very comfortable with them and I know that they know nothing is meant by it but purely because I enjoy their company and their friendship.

thanks for sharing your thoughts on this topic. my question is why he avoided to acknowledge our common friend when they bump into each other that time when in fact they were face to face. that really puzzles me. hehehehhe

Well, in most cases, people who are very intimate with each other like holding hands, and very sweet when they are together, this is an indication that there is something going on between them. Maybe your friend is not yet ready to share with you her secret? Or maybe her friends are against that man? well, we don't know her reasons.
But she has the right for her own privacy. Just wait until she will tell you.

well we can't really tell the motives of our friends action unless i'll find the courage to ask him. maybe what i will do is ask him jokingly the next time we bump into each other. hehehhe. thanks for the post and have a great day!!!

I don't know why he would want to keep it a secret, but I would definitly say he is with that person. If they were just friends they wouldn't have been holding hands. Maybe he really likes this girl and don't want to admit to the guys or he's not that serious about it, but just holds hands with her to get what he wants from her. But I think if the second one were the case he would have no problem tellin the guys. That's just my opinion
