a rare icecream which i tasted

about 2 years ago in a star hotel in chennai after finishing my dinner i wanted to have desert,when i saw a rare name in the menucard hot icecream.since the name was new i ordered thinking that the icecream would be hot within few mins i got the icecream srved in a plate.a plate with 8 small balls made out of maida dough which was hot,when tasted as soon as i put it on to my mouth the dough broke and vanilla icecream popped out. it was a excellent idea.i even congradulated the chef for finding a rare icecream like this,when i asked for the recipe he said it was a secret.

Sounds a bit like Glace au Four, if I remember the name right.
I have tasted it once or twice. You can make it at home, and it is rather easy.
Just whip some egg white and then take hard frozen blocks of ice cream, any flavor you like, and cover it with the egg white.
Under the Ice cream you can have some cake to protect it from melting - cut the cake the same form as the ice cream blocks.
Then put it all in a hot oven and let it stay there until the egg white gets some color - Then it is baked and the ice cream is still cold inside.
It has to be eaten rather fast -

I have never tasted a rare ice cream. But the one you are saying there is one available here in the philippines. I have seen it in one tv show but forgotten the name and the name of the restaurant. When I saw it in tv I was amazed also because the ice cream is inside the dough and they fry it. How I wished to have tasted it because I love ice cream so much.....

oh that is very interesting alright! i sure wish i could taste that too...hehe you make it sound soooo good! hehe
anyway, the most interesting dessert i have had is durian ice cream--you know that smelly fruit that tastes like heaven.
