The bible... Man made?

Well lets look at it this way, man has been influenced by this god person to write the bible. He has been enlighten and has thus produced this book we call holy bible. But since it has been written so so long ago, don't you think that over the hundreds of years man changed some of the deeper meaning to benefit their own needs? We are merely human and we are not perfect. When we see an opportunity to change something to match our needs we pretty much tend to do so. What is your opinion on the authenticity of the bible?
