after formatting you have to install your audio and video drivers..i think this is not the reason for not working of your audio systems..

I am sure that you have installed the sound driver. Check out the cd;s you have got when you have bought your computer and find your sound driver cd. You won;t hear any sound until you install the driver.

Before you reformat your hard drive it's important to make sure that you have all the driver cds that you need for your hardware. I'm guessing that your sound system, perhaps a sound card within your pc requires the necessary driver in order to work. Otherwise you will have to search online, check out the manufacturer's website of the soundcard and download the necessary driver for your card. I may be wrong but I'm thinking that this is a real possibility. Before formatting your hard drive in future I'm thinking that you should back up any drivers that you don't have a cd for, I don't know if this is possible or not, it's just something I heard. Good luck. I hope that you resolve this problem. Andrew

This is an excellent reason to switch to a Mac. We used to have so many problems with our pcs and since we changed to Apple computers about 3-4 years ago, we have not had a single problem. Mac OS X is the easiest system to operate, there are so many features and they just look better than PCs in my opinion. You should think of switching if you keep having problems like this. You won't regret it.
