If you were not properly dressed for an occasion, would you leave or stay on?

It some times happens that you do not know the dress code for a particular occasion and land up there dressed casually. When you reach there you realised that you are not suitably dressed. What do you do? Do you excuse yourself and leave or stay on without feeling uncomfortable in any way? Or do yougo and sit in one corner trying to avoid being visible/

If I was not properly dressed for an occasion I would definitely feel embarrassed and I would probably leave. I would hate to be the only one there dressed a certain way like lets say casual and everyone else is all dressed out in a black ties and dresses. Oh I would be so embarrassed. I guess it would also have to do with what type of occassion was it for and if would be best for me to leave and change and come back.

Hiya mercuryman...I'm outta there. I usually try to determine the expected attire before attending anything. If its something I've attended before..I usually know what's expected. I don't suppose it should really matter but I'm not one that likes to stick out like a sore thumb. At least not in a bad way. I may even notice the way people are dressed going in,run home and change.lol I'm silly but I do care about my appearance.

Well, it depends on the occassion whether I will stay or leave when I am not properly dressed. If it is a small gathering, I think I will stay for a while and leave. I will only consider if I am the only one who is dressed differently. If I think that my dress is very odd with the other guests, I think I will leave. Well, they say that it is better to be underdressed than overdressed.

I get embarrass when this things happen. If its convenient, I'll go back to my house and change but if not, I'll stay to apologize to the host, make an appearance and go home early.

When we go for any occasion,we normally go dressed well, fitting the occasion If for some reason if I am not dressed as per the dress code,I will return home. Later I will appologise to the organiser, informing him what happened.

If it were something that I didn't have to be there then I would probably leave. I would worry how I looked and be uncomfortable even if I were properly dressed. So the extra attention I would feel from not being properly dressed would really bother me. If it was something that I couldn't just leave then I probably would try to find an out of the way corner where not very many people would notice me.
