No this is not a too lazy, but our vacuum cleaner is in the guest room. Now we have a small guest room, it used to be one of our sons;'s bedroom but this house should have been a two bedroom instead of a three bedroom house, even the master bedroom is small, so with the bed in the guestroom, there is not much room for anything else, not even a dresser, and that is the only place to put the vacuum cleaner. We have to move everything to take it out, so I only vacuum when needed, most of the time we use the sweeper on the linoleum. Well with all the Christmas presents in the guest room, plus the other mattress, I did not want to take out the vacuum cleaner, and there were a few crumbs on the living room carpet, so I decided to use the broom there, and it worked. It is amazing how much dust balls there were. So have you done this, used the broom where you would have usually used the vacuum cleaner? I know I did it when our vacuum cleaner was broken.

I have all linoleum in my home. But when I go to my mom's I am always using the broom instead of the vacuum on her carpets. Sometimes her vacuum isn't the best so it is just easier to sweep with the broom.

Yeah front doors tend to get the dirtiest. I would have to repeat sweeping there several time to try to get out alot of the dirt and dust from peoples shoes.

I have our vacuum cleaner in the spare bed room, and it is hard to get it out. So sometimes I just use a broom as it is much quieter. But I really have to vacuum near the front door.

My wife likes to use the vacuum cleaner instead of a broom. She says that a vacuum cleaner cleans more than a room. I don't know but my mum prefers a normal broom instead of a vacuum.

It is hard to turn the vacuum cleaner on when your husband is home all day. I do prefer the vacuum cleaner, but our house is so small we need room to store everything.

If you have a good, stiff corn broom, it actually works as well, if not better than a vacuum.

That is what we have. It is amazing how much those brooms pick up. It even works cleaning the snow off the sidewalk.

I use the vacuum usually. When I get out the vacuum, I do the entire house. My vacuum goes from wood to carpet with a flip of a switch, so it is easy enough. I have never tried to use a broom on the carpet, but will keep that in mind for future reference.

Like if the vacuum cleaner motor breaks down, the rubber thing (have no idea what they call it,) comes off. It happened with our old vacuum cleaner.

Yes I have. it sounds like you need a little rechargable vacuum, just for quick pick ups like crumbs and stuff. They really don't cost that much, and are handy to have.

Hi suspenseful, I don't have a vacuum cleaner - my house is small and the floors are tiled witha few rugs scattered around. We use a broom and the tiles are mopped several times a week - my grand twins make a lot of mess! I used to have one but it seemed easier to use the broom so this is what we do, and it works out quite well. None of us miss it. How are your Christmas preparations going? Blessings my friend
