sleeping while your eyes open are normal?

i work in night shift for 2 years now and i really get used to it..but i have this friend whom i call "freak"..he cant get to sleep, with his eyes shut.is it normal or should i ask him to see a doctor?

i've never heard of someone sleeping with their eyes open. i didn't even know that was possible for one to do. are you sure he's asleep maybe he's just playing with you. i think he should see a doctor. that's not normal.

at first we thought he was just playing with us(because he used to).but nights passed by and observed then.he never blink his eyes for almost an hour.. when we told about his freak joke, he told us that he didnt know either not until we told him

This sounds unusual but I have heard of someone who sleeps with eyes open. This must be a talent and could get you a job as a night watchman. Cheers!!
