problem with inlaws

i don't know why some people are so selfish.My mother is so different.It's not the case that she is my mother she really cares for everybody.Be it be her sister,friends relatives etc.but my mother inlaw is so much different.she never cares for anybody.Give others gifts that are given to her by others and that she wants to throw in the dustbin.but my mother always buys expensive gifts even for her and everybody.My mother is like she cares for everybody.even for those who don't care for her.

Your mother seems like a lovely lady.
Your mother in law is just regifting. Alot of people do this and I see no harm in it if you are giving someone a nice gift you think they will like even if you didn't use or care for it.
My MIL is different too. She regifted a gift I gave her and gave it back to me. Now that is what I call tacky!

Oh my God Your Mil gifted you the same thing which you have gifted him.it's so difficult.I know it's good if you give the same gifts but it can be done only if you also like those gifts.if you don;t like them and want to throw them and you gift them to others because you never want to use them then .........what to do in such a situation.

I took that gift that I bought for her....it was not my taste at all, it was more hers in my opinion. I ended up regifting that gift once again and to someone who wouldnt' be so rude as to gift it back to me.
