Last weekend my 7 year old daughter attended a Cheerleading camp put on by the school. The High School Cheerleading Squad along with some volunteering parents helped put it on. The taught all the attending elementary school children a dance and then a cheer. Thursday night they performed at half time at the High School basketball game. They danced to "These Boots Are Made For Walking" and then did a cheer. It was so adorable seeing all those children out there having so much fun. Have you ever sent your child to a cheerleading camp before?

Hiya singlemommy...my daughter has been in cheerleading since she was 7 too. She's 15 now so we have had our fair share of cheer camps. My daughter often hosts these camps and she loves it! It is alot of fun for them but it's alot of work too. Even for the little ones. Have fun, I love to watch them too.

My niece has gone to quite of a few of them and now she is a cheerleader on her elementary's peewee team. They are all so cute out there cheering in their little uniforms. I think that it is a great program for the little girls and has helped her come out of her shyness quite a bit. At first you would barely be able to hear her cheer and now she is one of the loudest ones out there and always willing to be right up front.

Yes, my daughter seems to be a little timid at times too. She had a blast cheering as did all the other children too. I hope the school does more events like this for them again. Thanks for the comment!

My daughter is 4 so I haven't even thought of that yet. I'm not sure if I would or not. I think it really depends on whether or not it's something she wants to do and whether we can afford it.

Seeing as my only child old enough to go to cheerleading camp is a boy, I think he would protest a little bit if I tried to send him. I think it is something that my daughter would like to do when she is a little bit older. She is full or energy and loves attention.
