By outdated ,I mean last season or two seasons before, was trendy a while back but now new trends have emerged. There are some persons who are ’ fashion crazy’ ,they have to be in the latest trends and cannot be seen in clothes that’s "so yesterday”, consequently thy have to get every new trend and when that trend goes out of fashion they dump it ,never to be worn again not even in the yard. What are your views on outdated clothes ? It would be good too if you could state your age or age group (don’t get scared now if you don’t want to you don’t have to lol) so that comparisons can be made between this practice and age.

It depends on how it looks like.. I probably won't though. But there are some clothes that were "in" before but still worn today. Outdated clothes like elephant pants, I won't. Skinny jeans were famous before and now they're really "in" again. So it really depends..

Hey ronnyb, Truthfully, yes. But, it depends. People age, and when you age, your taste changes along with it. One year you like this jacket, 10 years later, you are disgusted that you thought that jacket was the ish. Im a fashion student, so I kinda listen to the whole 'in with the new, out with the old' theme - to an extent. For the rich and famous, it's easy, for a student lol...it's a bit too much to ask for. But, the openmindedness and freedom of expression that lives today means that fashion is no longer a dictator but more of a suggester. So, for me I wear what I feel comfortable in, though I still adhere to the fashion rules. Lol. Like everything else in this world, fashion has it's own cycle, so what is hot today, will be out in a few years, but will appear 20 years from now, with a touch of modernism. Even though it might be out today, it will soon be back lol..Oh and im 19.

Goop response ,keep it up

Lol...thanks ronnyb, nah you're pretty much spot on, i do wear mainly jeans and tees. In fact, lol...if you were to look in my wardrobe, you will find only denim bottoms - denim trousers and shorts. And, I wear them everywhere, uni, at home and at work, throughout the whole year: spring, summer, autumn and winter. I am not really fond of dress pants, they sparkle and flap around too much. It's a bit too much for me as a guy, I prefer fabrics that hold, are stable and durable. Lol...It's pretty cool how you put this little discussion up. It brings up one of the many issues within the fashion industry. The trends that are whisked up, paraded down the runway, filling the glossies then trickle down the department stores ending up with us were clearly not made for everyone. The reason why all models must be skinny is because fabric drapes better on skinny people. Yes, it looks unhealthy but the model is merely an accessory to the outfit. The clothes are more important. Realisticly, this goal is unattainable. What I also find sad, is when people try to follow the trends when it clearly doesnt suit their body shape, which is where we then a have a fashion victim and a F.D - fashion disaster. For me, it is far better to wear something that is practical, suits your lifestyle while maintaining style at the same time and looks great on you, then trying to pull off wearing the new Dior balloon skirt when you are short, turning you into a sad, little, stumpy person becoming the joke of the day. (As a fashion student, I am in a industry that knows how to b!tch, I can go further but I would prefer not to because I myself have had a few F.Ds lol...i know, it's quite sad, just makes me more determined to not perform these evil deeds again or anyone else that I know lol...

I'm at the age that the fashions don't matter but comfort does. I like to wear men's tees and those elastic waisted pants. I haven't bought a new dress for some time because I can't find any thing I like. Fashions come and go then they come back again. I remember when I was young back in the 60's the hip huggers and the bell bottomed pants were all the rage. Now they are in again. Only the hip huggers ore lower than they were back then.

I am 19 and I do not pay attention to fashion at all. I just wear the same t-shirts and do not pay attention to it. It would basically be a waste of money if I would buy new clothes every season. That is just my opinion. Plus, I hate shopping, so it makes the want to get new clothes every season not be very big.

I have no choice I can not afford to keep up with the latest fashions.Mind you with all the skin you have to show and half your rear end not a pretty site ,it is just as well.Jeans and t-shirts never go out of fashion,I have some special blouses in my collection I have had for years ,I still love to wear them and have no intention of chucking them out.fashion is fun for the young and not so young.Funnily was having a conversation with my daughter the other day about my style as I have been so ill for so long I have lost my way and my confidence a bit.So on tuesday morning I am having my hair dyed red brown my natural colour or it used to be and have purchased some new clothes classic with style as my daughter tells me.In answer to your original question if they high fashion then no that looks silly, well it does at fifty,I am not over the hill yet apparently according to my daughter.

Yes keeping up with the latest fashions would be expensive. Its always practical to go with jeans and tees.Yes go for that fireberand red and little skimpy clothes (just a little skimpy )and get back that sway in your hips and go girl ,you are by no way over the hill.Sorry to hear about your sickness. Nothing cures sickness better than a new attitude ...you go suzzy

I try to stay in fashion. Some style are always in fashion though, so you never have to worry about wearing them. I'm 19, so I guess it makes sense that I try to be more trendy, but perhanps this is just an assumption. I follow the trends that I like, but do not always purchase the new trend. I try to be more of a trendsetter which I think is better than just following the trends. I also never throw clothing out because there are many people who need clothing. If I no longer wear an item in my closet, I will donate it to some type of charity.

It seems you have managed to strike a balance between youth and proper spending habits. When I was your age I was a lot like you preferring to set trend rather than follow them and I also like the fact that you are not wasteful charoty is a better way to dispose of the clothes you dont want

I have never worried about the "in" style. I'm a plain jane person, and you'll hardly ever see me wear anything but jeans and a comfortable shirt. With the way the economy is right now, I'm glad that I've never tried to keep up with the latest fashions, and spend ridiculous amounts of money on clothes that I may or may not wear more than once. As long as I'm covered and comfortable, I'm happy

I am 58 years old. I wear clothes to cover myself, be decent and be able to do my function in society in those clothes. If the outdated clothes cover me, if they are decent, suit my age, gender, and function in society, yes, I will wear them.
