to your kids? i mean when do you tell them that Santa is just a mythological figure, and the reason why stories of him were made. Do you think Children at the age of 3 to 7 are ready for the news, or should we wait longer, and just play along?

NO, don't tell a 3-7 year that!! I would never bring it up to them, as they figure it out on their own, when they finally are at the age that they realize it is impossible to make a world round trip overnight, or whenever their friends tell them. If they bring it up to you, then you can tell them that Santa is in your heart, etc, etc, whatever your 'story' is for them. I'm 30 years old, married, and living away from home and I still get presents from Santa - and I'm not ashamed to say that I still love him :p

I would say around 4th or 5th grade. If you tell them too soon, then you will ruin it. If you tell them too late, they will be embarrased when they still believe in santa and everyone else knows.
