What would you say it is? The grizzly? The mountain lion? Sharks? ..........Nope.........the deer. There are more fatalities from deer/car accidents than deaths from any other animal. Comments?

I don't think the deer are the deadliest creatures. However i do do think people come in contact more with deer than any of the other animals you mention. For shark, you have to be in the water. People are land creatures themselves. As for bears, you must be in a wooded area or mountain. As for deers, they are found everywhere. Even in the wide open.

Deers are not the only creatures that are known to cause accidents. It really depends on the area you live in.

Deer are deadly in that they cause many fatalities in car accidents. I live in a heavily deer populated area. We are the rare exception of people who have not had an accident with a deer. Thanks:)

I have to agree with you on that point. I know that I have seen plenty of deer standing on the side of the road after dark. Sometimes it looks like they are just waiting for some unwary driver to come by so they can jump out in front of the car at the last minute.

Actually the deer population gets larger every year. There are many more deer now than when the pilgrims first landed here. Deer thrive in cleared out areas and as we clear more land, we get more deer. Thanks:)

I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. There is much said by the environmentalists about how we are destroying the natural habitat of wild animals by our expansion into their habitat. And that this expansion is driving some species to extinction. I am glad to hear that at least one species is actually increasing by our expansion.

I would say your close but in my opinion the most dangerous animal in the United States is the human animal. Especially when he or she has been drinking. More people are killed by drunk drivers than deer.

I would have thought a bear or a shark.. Deer are so tame, really too tame and we are taking over their space.. The more building that goes on, subdivisions, condos, malls and the like, the more deer we are going to see out on the roads.. That is sad.. I know of a couple of people who have hit deer and it tore the windshild up on a friend's car, so it is dangerous..

I've got one for you, how about human beings. It seem to me they cause more accidents than other animals. Then come deer.

I can believe that. Around here someone hardly ever walks away without an injury from hitting a deer with their car. If they hit it, almost alwayas the car is totaled, and more people than I would expect are killed. And just think how bad it is when people are speeding! When a person sees a deer crossing sign, it really has to be taken seriously.

I do not live in the US rocketj but I will be part of your good as always discussion and take a guess. Well I would say it might be the crocodile. They look very dangerous to me and would never want to meet one when I visit there. Yes deer is a problem here also. They always seem to cause accidents too. I think the forest edges should have a nice wooden fence put around them to keep them all away from the roads.
