Oh, Elsie! I had no idea. You look so sweet with your big brown eyes..............Yup. According to the Animal Planet, cows kill 100 times more people every year than sharks do. ...........How? .....Trampling! Comments?

i will guess a bengal tiger lol I am not sure but thats my first thought. I saw an article which said that the sand itself is more deadly then the sharks. I am not sure. I didnt know about the cows, but being from Texas, I would have guessed bulls.

There is alot of bull, and the steers will hit you. I knew a man who got shot way up in the air by a bull. They can have bad tempers and be deadly. Now theres also alot of bs here too and its all bigger because its in Texas lol

Have you seen how big a cow is? How about their horns? Cows may look docile, but make them mad and they will come charging. My dad raises cows and has ever since I was a little girl. Cows are still considered a wild animal even thou domesticated and raised for food. Trust me if a cow doesn't want to move. It won't. Try going cow tipping and see what the cows do. But make sure you have your running shoes on.

Nope, I never have because I have been raised around cows enough to know what they are capable of. But I do know some teenagers who thought it was funny as all get. Til one can no longer walk due to a cow catching him after he did some cow topping.

When something rare happens then the press is all over it like if an airplane crashes then it is headline news but how many people die in car accidents every day? They do not make the news much. Same as when a shark attacks a human, it gets blown out of proportions. Humans kill far more sharks than the other way around, in fact many sharks may become extinct becau8se of human killing them. Will sharks come close t making us become extinct?

I guess there are also cow/car accidents. In many countries, there are not a lot of fences and cows often step out into the road.

Cows kill? How udderley awful! They probably got the statistics from my country. You can be driving along and then a cow will dive out from the bush into the road. They cause so many accidents. But there is a stupid very old law that states it is illegal for us to kill a cow whilst driving. Yep. We would get into trouble; not the cow. Now move over Buttercup, and let me pass. Blessings

If it is a Bull, yes I would believe it! Some bulls can be really nasty and are not to be trusted!! I know this because I grew up on a farm and so I am not shocked about this at all! ~Heavens~

Jaws gave sharks a really bad name and reputation. THey aren't preditors and they aren't that vicious. They don't even really like human meat. They won't generally bother you unless you bother them. Leave them alone and they will do the same. I'm not at all surprised at the cows. They only trample out of fear and since they are much more common and people think they are so stupid - just goes to show, I guess, who is the stupid one!

I am surrounded by farmers where I live. And believe it or not cows can really do some damage. You can be rammed by a cow for one, or trampled. I have a friend that got kicked in the knee by a cow and he had to have his whole knee replaced. The cow totally shattered it. When you think about it a calf can weigh anywhere from 300 plus pounds. That is just a calf. A cow can wiegh thousands of pounds. Would you want to mess with one of those?

Wow, I've never heard that about cows. Pretty intersting. But there are a lot more cows than sharks in the united states and you are much more likely to encounter a cow than a shark. I've just never thought of them as killers before. I have also heard that Hippos are really deadly animals. Not in the United States, but in Africa I guess they kill a lot of people.

Actually these are world-wide stats on cows. I'm assuming that these accidents and tramplings happen with farmers, ranchers etc.

A shark is not inherently bad, it's only when humans are introduced into their environment, they believe humans are fish and attack. Truly, pitbulls are the most deadly because they are the nearest terror and have hurt many innocent people just because of their drive to kill - let's make them extinct.

You are right. Sharks are really just acting on their instincts. I'm sure that there are others here who would argue about pitbulls, but I am definitely against ANYONE with children owning one. Thanks:)
