Do You Always Try To Shop The Clearance Sales At Stores?

It doesn't matter what store I go to, whether it's Wal-Mart, the local grocery store or the pharmacy, I'm always looking at the clearance sales. Even when grocery shopping, I look at the food that is on clearance, maybe its a dinted can good or something that I can freeze to cook with later, etc. I will get anything that is at a good price and I can afford. Especially with the way the economy has gotten and things will probably be this way for awhile. I'm sure the worse it gets the more I will be shopping clearance. Do you shop clearance when you go shopping?

Yes! Always! I am the bargain shopper of All Bargain Shoppers! :) Even when I'm at the grocery store, I calculate whether it's cheaper to buy name-brand items w/ my coupons or simply toss the coupon and buy store brand! ;) We only grocery shop every 6 weeks or so and I alter my 'menu' to accommodate ingredients that were on sale, super cheap, etc. As for shopping for clothes, household items, gifts, etc.... I ALWAYS go to Kmart - EVERYTHING is on Clearance ALL THE TIME! I cannot tell you how many great deals I've gotten in that store! The only bad thing about Kmart is that it's closed alot of their stores so I have to travel about an hour to get to one... but it's okay... I take advantage of ALL their savings, everytime I go!

I used to love going to K-Mart too, but we no longer have one close to us. I always found good sales there. Thanks for the comment!

I always shop clearance - especially when it comes to clothing. So many things go on clearance simply because the season is coming to an end. I make sure to go on days when sales are happening as well and I usually come out with some pretty good deals!

Yes, I try to buy my children clothes for the following year. Like when they have clearance on Summer clothing I stock up just guess on what they might wear next Summer. It does help out a lot.

I always look for the clearance aisles when I go shopping. You can find some pretty good deals in these aisles. And there is usually nothing wrong with the product. Like you said it could be a dented can or it could be last years model. I am glad that stores offer this kind of thing. The economy is crazy right now and every little bit helps.

My partner and I do not go shopping on a regular basis for a couple of reasons. One is that I am regularly away from home due to my job as an interstate truck driver and also we have a small organic farmlet which keeps us busy. In addition to that we have to watch our money, so the less times we actually go shopping the less we will spend! We live just out of a very small town where things can be rather expensive, solely due to the small turnover in stock. So, for us it is a trip to a larger town a couple of hours drive from us and we do that every couple of months. Some of our children and grandchildren live there so we take an overnight trip to catch up with them and also do the bulk of our shopping. My partner has worked out before hand what we need in the way of groceries etc and the children have all the specials catalogues ready for our perusal. We work out what we want from each of the different stores and of course check ouit the "special markdown price" bins before anything else. Also we do or shopping after about 7.00 pm, as the supermarkets are marking the prices of stuff down then and sometimes we can pick up some really good bargains. A carton of milk which has say 2 days before expiry goes into our freezer immediately and it still has at least 2 days left when we use it in a month or two. lol We use our freezer extensively and it comes in very handy for when we are busy or when I am away tgruck driving, as I take all my meals with me to save having to pay high prices when on the road. For clothes and materials etc, we check out the local Opportunity/Thrift shop and often get a good bargain. It might be something for us to wear or perhaps we will find some material or clothing item which my partner can alter or whatever and make a whole new outfit. That is where she got the material to make the outfits for our grandchildren for Christmas. Yes I highly recommend bargain hunting and if more people did it that way, the perhaps the supermarkets etc would realise that we are not prepared to pay the high prices they put on things. If they can mark something down on special by 50%, then the original price is way too high. Good luck with you future shopping trips and hope you always manahge to find some really good bargains.

Honey, I go straight to the mark down racks in whatever store I am in. My daughter brought me to Macy's when I first relocated up here, I thought she was nuts as I can't afford to shop there. They have a 3rd floor here that all the stuff is on markdown. I got hundred dollar sets of pots and pans for ten dollars, comforter marked down from one twenty to eleven dollars, a comforter set marked $442. for forty dollars. I loved it. I only buy if I can off the sale racks. I got my grand daughter 2 shirts at wal mart for christmas, one marked down from $12.99 to a $1.00 and another one for three bucks. Same with Khol's they have racks of markdown clothes all the time, nothing wrong with them just last of stock and new items coming in.Feels good to geta 40 or 50 dollar blouse or other item for $3.00.Beats shopping at the dollar store where when you wash it for the first time it shrinks up to nothing. We are on a fixed income so especially at Christmas, when you have so many gifts to buy, the markdown racks come in handy. I sure ain't telling them it cost me two bucks. i am always shopping for a bargain, I figure if I saved one this one I got more money to buy another item or save. Good luck with your bargain hunting, I think most of us will be doing it that way for a while now.

I always shop the clearance racks. I very rarely ever buy any clothes that are not on clearance. I bought all my daughters school clothes on clearance. I found jeans for 3.00 a pair and shirts for 2.00 All her school clothes were about 30.00 in total. That includes her shoes. We also go to our local Goodwill when they have their clothes on sale for 1.00 a piece.

I love shopping at Goodwill. You can find so many good deals there. My ex used to be a manager at one and I would frequently go in there to talk to him and I couldn't hardly do that without seeing something that I wanted.

Most of the time when I am Shopping, I am known to shop the Clearance aisles and look for the bargains. I even do this like in Macy's etc. when shopping for clothes as well. When you can buy something that was originally like say $50 for example for around $10 or less a lot of the times if you wait you cannot go wrong either. I have been doing this for many yrs. even way before the Economy being like it is now. I used to sell on Ebay and our Local Swap Meet, and sometimes would find New items on clearance for less that I could get them somewhere wholesale as well.

I always look at clearance sales whether it's food or other sales. I mean you just never know what you are going to find and I think you're really cheating yourself if you don't look at the clearance sales. Sometimes you can find great deals with the stuff that you are looking for if you shop clearance sales.

I always shop the clearance too as you never know what you can find and for what kind of mark down. I have always watched where our money went and if I can buy things for less I love it. It is fun to hunt down good bargains too! With todays economy every cents counts!

During the past few month... i only buy clothes and shoes that are on clearance sales... saves me a lot of money... but when it comes to food... i rarely get to grocery shop for any... only those that have like a free item that goes with something... like free bar soap with powdered soap... or free cookies with soda... Times like these... we need to be very smart in terms of buying what we need... expensive clothes are not the way to go...

I used to quite a bit, especially when shopping for clothes but I find that I have less patience these days. I agree that buying clearance stuff at grocery stores is great though, as you can freeze most produce and use it at a later date.

I am addicted to clearance items! My favorite part of Target is the aisles when you first walk in where everything is under $2.50. I find all kinds of goodies there! I'm all about buying things used or at the dollar store. A lot of that stuff is just as good as the brand name stuff, but much cheaper! Of course, there are some things I won't buy this way-- like makeup or skin care products. Things like candles or house cleaners, though, I don't seem to notice a difference!

Yes I always shop the clearance at the store. I even shop clearance online. Times has gotten real hard. So I real cut back and shop clearance, cheap, or with coupons.

I am not a fan of crowds and basically avoid shopping when the sales are on. I do a lot of online shopping as I find it far more convenient. I am lucky in that I have a good career as does my hubby and we have a lot of disposable income. We save quite a bit each month but we also buy when we want or need whenever we want or need it as we're not depriving anyone else of anything. I am not keen on sale or clearance stuff as more often than not there is some damage or it's the end of the line and no one else wants it. Now and then I'm attracted to something in the sales but generally I avoid it. I tend not to buy bulk either for freezing at home as I get bored of having the same thing over and over so discounts on bulk food purchases don't really appeal to me either...

I like shopping on clearance racks. When I go with my mom I can shop more when I'm with my husband he has this look like why are you wasting my time. I never seen a section in walmart with clearance food or any store. I got a good sale once when I went to old navy. I got a lot of shirts for only $2.00. Most of them are to be worn under a shirt but I did get some good deals. I love finding deals like that. Another good place to shop is JcPenny's. I like going when they have those buy 1 get 1 for .99 cents. They have alot of clearance clothes there also and I usually get more off when I get to the register.

I try very hard to only shop the clearance racks. Anyway I can get more for my money! I'll do it. Times are especially hard these days, so I have no choice but to shop the clearance racks. I don't mind it because you get the same items, just at a cheaper price.

I guess it usually depends on what i'm looking for. But if it's clothes i always start at the clearance rack because it's worth it. There's nothing like getting a $70.00 pair of jeans for $25.00 after it's gone on sale for the season. I'm not a fashion freak but i do like a good deal.

Yes but not with food, clothes and other items yes. With clothes you find things that you wouldn't expect and then when you take to the cashier, your even more surprised that it's much less than what you thought you would pay.
