Do you wish on shooting stars or the first star you see? How about B-day wishes

I got home late last night and I felt guilty that I hadn't fed two of the feral cats that depend on me...so at 12:30 a.m. I put on my coat and walked down to feed the cats. I saw two shooting stars and made a wish on them. What I am wondering is when you see a shooting (or falling) star, the first star you see at night or when you blow out your birthday candles do you still make a wish? Do you make the wish for something for yourself or do you wish for something for someone else? I ask this because the two wishes I made are for my best friend that is in the middle of a horrible break up. It's my greatest desire that she has the opportunity to be happy and have someone who will genuinely love her and take care of her. I am worrying about her because of her need for financial help (she can't work and hasn't gotten SSI yet. We've worked for four years to get her on disability and I am still working like crazy towards that end). While I was walking home I got to thinking about how wonderful it would be if we stopped totally focusing on ourselves and helped each other out more. Even if it just starts with a simple wish on a shooting star....

Sometime I do, but to me a wish is just a wish. No wished will be granted. It just a way to cheers your self. I believe if you have wish, then you need to act fast to fulfill the wish. You are controlling your own life, now and future. BR
