Is it healthy using a microwave oven?

I like to know the goods and bads of a microwave oven.How many of you here are using one?I have heard that there are harmful radiations from a oven and it is better to avoid cooking in an oven.Is it so?Is there any medical proof encouraging ovens?I am in a dilemma to get one.So,please guide me!

I have a microwave oven but I seldom use it. I believe it has a harmful effect on us humans -- it's radiation that is why I use it rarely. I also believe it's not good to use plastic in microwave ovens as the heating process and a fatty food releases dioxin a very harmful substance that can cause cancer. Ceramic or glass containers are advised.
