Well I live about 20 miles from where the local weather is reported from. But there's also a weather station at a County Airport near me. Anyhow, at my airport Sunday morning the temperature was 40 degrees at 8 a.m. We had a heavy rainfall as well as there was a huge storm approaching my area and north pof me. Anyhow the rain put pock marks in the snow leaving a patchy looking lawn out back. THis is what was left of neartly 6 inches of snow we got earlier in the week. Now the weather is........ Maybe later I'll talk about that aspect. So My daughetr and grandkids were over ALL day Saturday and we went and finished off the last of my gift buying. ( I hope) So did your weather cooperate this weekend for your plans etc? Did you go shopping at all? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

On Saturday, I met my daughter in town and we went Christmas shopping at 9AM! We didn't leave town until 11 that night. We had a ball and I did get some of my shopping done. Yesterday was my birthday, so my husband took me out to eat in the afternoon. But, I had got to thinking about some shirts I had bought the boys and maybe we had gotten the wrong size. Well, we went yesterday and I bought some more shirts. I'll take back the others that I had bought when I go back to that particular store. It's a bit farther than we went yesterday. The weather was nice both days, although cold and really windy.

It wasn't that bad until it snowed on top of the frozen rain actually. Snow on top of ice is not a good combination for driving. My daughter and her family drove up Noreth right into the hardest hit area Saturday late at night. They made it but drove a long way at only 20MPH due to white out conditions. I would not want to drive on ice, period! Here in the South any of that combination would almost be fatal. Around the big towns, they do salt the streets or whatever they do to them. But, here in the country and small towns, you are paralyzed and can't go anywhere if there is an ice storm or large snow storm. We had a large snow storm in 1993 and I was snowed in by myself for six days! My husband was in Nashville in our apartment, since he had been transferred on his job a few years earlier and I had come home for the weekend, not knowing it was going to snow. It was our granddaughter's 3rd birthday and I didn't even make it there. And someone had to rescue my daughter and her family and take them to her husband's grandmothers since she was the only one with electricity around. That was a horrible snow! We had about 19 inches here and haven't had too much since.

The weather didn't effect me but my husband and son was wanting to go play golf over the weekend but it was too windy both days. It was sunny most of the time and nice, not too hot and for sure not cold. I have almost all my shopping done now, just waiting on a few things to arrive at my door.

We have a frisbee/disc golf course at a park not too far from here but I have no idea how that is played but it does seem like it would be hard playing it in the snow.

Hello Grandpa Bob! It rained all day long on Saturday and there was no cessation to it, thankfully I have done most if not all of my Christmas shopping, I was going out on Saturday for a night out but I was undercover so the weather didn't matter to me, and on Sunday I went to the gym and I drove as usual, I get a free car parking space if I go after 4pm on a Sunday so there isn't a chance to get wet thankfully. Good thing about the gym the weather cannot spoil. We haven't had any snow yet but that's not unusal, snow, is a rarity here now. Sounds like you had a good time too with your lovely family

It actually finally rained here for a change. It was pretty nice. I didn't have to worry about watering the yard. And I didn't have to go out to do anything anyway, so we all stayed in and had a very lazy day.

I actually got out for supper last night and it is rare that I go out in the winter, okay today I am paying for it because I am aching all over and screaming out in pain, but oh well it was worth it to go out.

My local business improvement area is always planning things to bring in the shoppers. For some years now, they have Santa go up and down the (long) street, visiting all the shops and giving out candy canes. There are carollers and horse-drawn wagon rides, not to mention free hot chocolate and cookies. They have this the two Saturdays before Christmas, and this past Saturday was the first one for this year. The weather was perfect! Mostly sunny, not too cold but cold enough to feel Christmassy. I talked with the head elf today and he said the stores were full and lots of people out, so very successful. Today, it was 9°C and raining for most of the day, but the temp. has since dropped to zero. Don't have a clue what the weather will be like for next Saturday's event.

Yeah, it did. I had the chance to go shopping for some more gifts but still not done with my Christmas shopping, still got a few more to do. It was so nice to go shopping on a nice windy day. It was a little bit cloudy but it never rained and the wind gave a chilly feeling making it more merrier to go shopping. I like it when it gets cold and chilly for me it is more Christmas like and i enjoy it.

Hi GRANPA BOB, Yeah, the weather has been bad, raining all the time, but I have been ill what with cold and cough plus my asthma has very bad so I haven't been out of the house and it is so cold too, glad I have done all my christmas shopping (presents buying) at last so all I have to do now is wrapping them up which fun in itself and tomorrow we are going food shopping for christmas. I did a little shopping GB, I just don't like cold weather so I hurried back to the house. I am glad I did because all this week the weather is going to be great for shopping nice jacket or sweater weather. I don't have that much to get it will not take me long at all if I just get what I am going and don't attempt to stray away from that.
