Someone at the gym told me this morning that he saw a report that all the billions of dollars that are being spent on the war is enough to write everyone in the country a check for at least $200,000. I don't know if that's entirely true or not. But if it is, hearning thimgs like that pisses me off! I look at the economic crisis that we are in, and I think that there is so much money being wasted on crap. Someone made in interesting point here on mylot. They want to use are tax dollars to bail out the auto industry. Why? No one is buying anything. Stuff is too expensive, people are loosing their jobs every day. It's no surprise why people aren't spending money on expensive homes or cars. I can buy a brand new car today and be laid off tomorrow. My opinion is why waste money trying to save the auto industry. So you can keep them from going ouy of business so they can keep on making expensive cars that no one is going to buy. That sounds like a good idea. Keep making more cars that people can't afford!!
All of these corporations that are asking for help have made millions of dollars. Now they are crying because they are on the verge of going outof business. I feel for the employees of these companies and not the owners who have made millions. The companies don't need to be bailed out. The people who are struggling and loosing jobs everyday are the ones that need help. Families are loosing jobs and their homes because of it. Why doesn't the government use the money they are wasting like building new baseball stadiums that we don't need and give back to the people. I live in NY where they are building a new Yankee and Mets stadium. The Yankees have just asked for another $4 billion to finish their stadium. This is a big waste of money. There are more important things in the world than buiding a new baseball stadium when there wasn't anything wrong with the original one.
I have heard people say many times that the world is designed for the poor or middle class to stay poor, and the rich to stay rich. I know for the most part many peole out there have taken risks and have done alot to have the success and wealth they have. You can't expect them to hand out money to everyone. But I look at this counrtry and the government. I think there is so much more they could do to help evryone out. Cuttting every one a check for $100,000 sounds like a good idea to me. It's sad to think that certain industries are making money off the war. As far as the bail outs, the companies don't need help, we the people are the ones that are struggling. You can't force people to spend money. I work for the post office and the mail volume is decreasing every year. I can't get mad at that. People are getting their bills paid online through their bank accounts more and more. The price of stamps is ridiculous. You can't force people to spend money on stamps. And I don't blame them. It's the same reason alot of people are getting laid off. People are not spending money on anythng because it's too expensive. Therefore companies have to cut salary costs and lay people off.
If it is indeed true that there is enough money out there to give everyone a few hundred thousand dollars then I'm all for it. It's not the answer or a long term solution to anything. I surely would not quit my job or waste that kind of money on material things like jewelry or expensive cars. But it could help people get back on their feet a whole lot. I think this country needs to really look at the things that they could be doing to help people more.
And I'll just end this conversation by saying the IRS can go straight to HELL!!!!!!!

Well said but think about it...If they cut everyone a check for 200,000.00 (actually I think the amount is higher than that) that might stimulate the economy and they really don't want that! They tell you they do because they know that's what you want to hear! In all reality they have us just where they want us! Look at the gas prices...they waited until the American people were at their snapping point and then all of a sudden the prices dropped dramatically! Hmmm, wonder why that is? Did we all of a sudden stumble upon a crap load of oil? Nope, it's all controlled by the FEDS! I have an article somewhere that explains all of this and I will post it when I find it! It's all about control! Why are we bailing the banks and car companies out but yet borrowing billions of dollars from China to support the war? It's all just a vicious cycle. The government has a subtle way of getting what they want. They make the people think that it is in their best interest and the people go for it. Then when it all hits the fan the people have no clue as to how it happened. Such as going to war in the first place...everyone was all for it then because they were pissed off about 911 and they felt we should strike them before they strike us, again. Who made you believe this...the government! Now people see that wasn't the answer and they can't understand how or why we are still there. As was with the Real ID Act...this was turned down by congress twice so they slid it in what they call a "back door" This simply means they put another act before congress (which in this case was homeland security) that they knew could not be turned down and attached this to it. Congress could not except one without the other! Get my drift! Now that they got it approved they want people to believe it's in their best interest and for their protection that they did this...NOT! It just another way to control us, but because of fear people won't realize this until it to late and it's used against them. What it all boils down to is that we "the American people" are all just a bunch of pawns in a very played out chess game!
