Your friend or one of your college mate has opened a business and you are not working and badly looking for a job and he/she wants to hire people at his.her business, would you go and tell that person that you are in-need of a job? I mean don't you think that you might feel somehow ashamed because then this is the same person you went to college with but they are successful and opened their own business, would you go there? For me that would be a very hard thing to do because i have this stupid pride in my that say i cannot work for a person who is at the same age as me or someone i went to college with because they might think I'm too dumb or maybe stupid enough to do better things like he/she did. Can you?

Not only would I go work for my friend, I'd be sure to keep friendship and the working relationship separate. Just because your friend opened a business doesn't mean they are better than you. A job is a job. Having a friend for a boss can be wonderful as long as they don't expect too much from you because you are their friend, and you don't expect an easy ride because your friend is your boss!

For me it will be very hard because there are times that I'll have to take orders from him and to stand there and listen to him giving me orders it will like I'm still a child and i have to obey all the things from the very same person that i use to go to college with? I think there will be times when you feel that this is too much and might tell yourself that you want to bring this person down because then you know everything about him because you use to school with him

It is very difficult to work under someone who was once upon a time a college friend. From my experince I have seen that such a contract does not end up in a sweet note as both of them suffer from ego clash besides superiority/inferiority complex.

Yes that's exactly what i fear to work for that kind of person because then you might think that i use to beat this person on this and that, or this i use to show him 1,2,3 but now he is successful. You that kind of a thing can create a jealousy and you might end-up trying to bring their business down or giving out or selling secret information to other competitors. Or maybe you might try to run the business your own way because then this is the person you use to beat on most of the things maybe.

Sure I can. I mean why not? If I do not have a choice and I have a family to feed why should I be ashamed. I guess I would see it in a positive way like may be from there business I'd be able to learn things that might be applicable in the future career that I am longing for. Being humble is one of the value that we should learn.

For me it would be very hard because then i would have to listen orders from the same person that maybe I attended the same class with and here he is successful and I'm taking orders from him. But then as you said if you have family to feed then i guess in that situation you have no choice but to listen to everything that your former mate has to say but i still think for me it will be very hard

Well sometimes we just have to swallow our pride if we really need a job. Given the same situation, I would not mind working under a friend or college mate if he would be compensating me appropriately. I think there is nothing wrong should he find out that I am jobless and I don't think he would consider me dumb but rather I believe he would even give me the chance to work and will give me the assistance that I need.
