Making a Website.

Hello Everyone, I am wanting to make a small website but am at a bit of a loss as to how to go about it really. I have tried a search on Google....making a website....and to be honest with you, I am completely overwhelmed by information that either doesnt make much sense to me or has me worrying about spending money before I get started. So im wondering if any of you Mylotters have any good advice on making a website both effectively and cheaply (free would be even better but I know that that might not be possible) I know next to nothing about websites other than everyone seems to have them these days lol Thanks everyone for reading :-))

Hi littletinker, If you want to build a website you can always use a guide to do it. I know one that is really good and it's completely free. And through the guide you get a 30-day free trial to a very good website building site. It's really easy since the guide is made so that anyone can learn how to build a website quickly. You can get the guide for free here if you want to check it out: http://www.18minutewebsite.com/website-building-guide

As I see you are completely new to website making and languages like HTML and CSS(please correct me if I'm wrong). So what I suggest you is to buy a hosting(your website will be stored on a computer -server- that is connected to the Internet 24h/day) and you buy the domain name(www.yourbusiness.com) and then you visit WordPress.org and download from there the latest blog version. If a blog is not suitable for your purpose then you can turn the blog into a regular website. This way you will have a website that is easy to edit, you only have to pay for the hosting, and maybe for the help with the install and the first configuration of the blog. stan
