Even if it is there is nothing to be afraid of. Your greetings was too short and at that time I was not sure what else to say apart from a short reply. It would have helped if you made some elaboration like what another myLotter did. Personally I think there are more Muslims than what you have in mind. Most of them use nicknames which do not make it clear the religion that they follow. Try not to generalise on the minds of the Christians. Of course there are Christians who look only into their own backyards. But the same thing can be said of people of other religions including Islam. In conclusion just do what you like doing. Try not to force our views onto others. all the best, rosdimy

I hope mylot doesn't turn out to be a Christianity forum. I am a Christian myself but I respect other religions as well. In fact, I also read their religious text. The problem with most self-proclaimed "Christians" is they are only Christians by name, and not by deed. That's the reason why most Christians, especially those from the west, do not understand muslims. It's because these self proclaimed "Christians" do not actually practice Christianity and they have lost their reverence of God. That's why if somebody makes fun of Jesus, they don't care, and they don't understand why people of other faiths who are deeply reverent of their god act violently if they insult their god. As I said, I am a Christian and as such, I respect others including those of different faiths. I distance myself from Christian hypocrites for they give Christianity a bad name. They are not true Christians. With all that being said, let's enjoy our stay on mylot. Respect to all and peace.

Dear Tushavi, I think and hope mylot is a place where people from all religions, races and places around the world can come together and discuss various topics without having a mind set to one specific opinion. If your discussion in which you said EID MUBARAK got deleted, the reason might be that in the mylot rules it is stated that we may only post replies and topics in English. However, I don't know in what kind of setting you used this text, so there might be an exception (if you were explaining the sentence, discussing it, or something else). I agree that by talking in a specific language you limit yourselve to a smaller public. It's too bad that people are getting scared of muslims and the Islam. If they have better knowledge and would talk to muslims they would see that by far not all of them have terrorist intensions. I am happy to have known a man who teaches the Islam to children as he was very good at describing it in a very easy way and he was very passionate about it. I learned a lot from him and it thought me that the Islam is intended to spread love and not terror.

I have been here for two years now and never I have thought of this as a Christianity site. You can call a site Christian or any other religion if only it purports to spread that particular religion. In all these years, I have come across only a handful of people who have actually tried to promote Christianity thru this site. Many have defended their religion while many more have pointed out its pitfalls and their disillusionment with it and some the proclaimed themselves as atheists. The reasons why you think of mylot as a Christian site is maybe because majority here are Christians and also because you cant really comment anything negative about Islam and get away with it in peace, Muslims will be on you like a pack of hounds. While with Christians, you can express your dislike, some will berate you while there are many others who will agree with you and speak against their own religion in a logical manner. So people avoid participating in Islam-centric discussion for the fear of it turning real ugly. Regarding religious greetings you must understand that the Christian west had colonized almost the entire world and spread their influence over many countries. So irrespective of religion, more people relate to Christmas than they do to Eid and hence the responses are more too.

After 2years and 6 months I still don't know what this forum is, and I am not Christian. People in the Western World are leery of Muslims, and don't know Islam. Frankly speaking they are scared, and cannot be blamed for thinking that Muslims are Crazy Terrorists, even though they know better. Muslim Terrorists are killing our young men even as we speak. This is the Western Mindset. However, when you are on myLot you are in a World Community, and if you are able to make a Post that can be understood, you will get responses. When you say "EID MUBARAK" you are speaking to Muslims, and Muslims are a minority in this forum. Next time say," Merry Christmas," and you will be speaking to most Westerners, whether or not they are Christian makes very little difference. What I am saying is," When in Rome, do as the Romans do!" Have a very merry Christmas!

I don't think mylot is a Christian forum, I not christian and I haven't encounter any discussion that promote Christian. I believe my lot is a free forum where there are no religious movement in it. Many of mlylotter are open minded even the majority are christian. Just keep open minded, since the majority of the mylotter were christian, surely Christmas will be on most of the discussion topic. But to me, Christmas is not just a religious celebration, it's already become a part world celebration. I live in the country where the majority of the people are muslim, and I still do not understand what is "Eid Mubarak" is all about. BR

That's an overly sensitive generalization and it makes no sense. If this were the case, then every post by Gnosis would be deleted. Think, please. This makes no sense.

Well I am a Muslim myself and have been in myLot for quite a long time, yes I did quit it in between but now I am back. Coming to religion and Christianity dominating this forum I would have to disagree with you here my friend. I do admit that religion is a very sensitive issue and there were some people here that were intentionally targeting sensitive issue not just because they cared about anything nor because for the purpose to gain and insight into other religions and respect everyone but to get more responses. That was very sad to see some people stirring up huge controversies further stirring up conflict between different religions purposely instead of promoting peace. I was involved in many discussions defending religion in the best manner and you know what the best part was? A lot of people from different faiths - Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, atheist were there to support me, yes there were many on the other side of the arguments as well but there were again many that supported peace and harmony. Make your discussions more interesting and people will respond, instead of opening up like 5-10 discussions make one or two well thought ones and people will eventually respond. Good Luck!

Read the words of Cyntrow above, with whom I rarely agree. Here she speaks the truth. Consider is it possible that what you observe is a result of the manner of posting rather than the content? all the best urban

Well, I for one would be disappointed if it's found to be one that caters only to Christians. I've seen many posts here by people who don't adhere to Christianity, and even bash it, and these haven't been deleted. Perhaps your comment needed an English translation for it to be accepted. I've had some of my posts and other discussions deleted too, even those that are harmless. I don't know why that is, I just think MyLot has been doing a lot of tweaking around the site lately.

I'm not here often and don't really search for discussions I just respond to friends but your discussion caught my attention. I started a discussion several months ago about Islam. I had questions and the people here that are Islamic did a great job answering my questions and, my discussion is still here. So I don't think your discussions were deleted because it was about Islam. I must admit my ignorance and say that if I saw a discussion titled "EID MUBARAK" I probably wouldn't be able to respond because I don't know what that means. Merry Christmas, I know but I prefer Seasoning Greetings lol

I think I wished you "EID MUBARAK". Sorry you did not get many replies to it though. I would not worry I never get replys to things sometimes. I think a lot using this site are Christians and like me they probably had not heard of this. Do not worry though. I stay away from a loat of religion discussions as they usually become nasty as someone gets annoyed. Take care

I don't think it's a specially anything site. MyLot appears to be what you make it. I'm sorry you feel slighted. It could be that people either didn't see your post or didn't know how to respond.

Christianity is a way of life, not a religion! So when your post was not answered it wasn't because of the way we think, feel or live our lives that had anything to do with it...It was because we didn't understand what it meant! If I was to post something in a language you couldn't understand, would you reply? Probably not, or at least I would hope you wouldn't. If you want to post something about Islam or Muslims have at it, but post it so we can read and understand it! This is an English speaking site! I'm sure then you would get some responses! You made the comment about knowing Christians and their minds...what's that suppose to mean? The idea here is to post discussions and have fun, not attack each other. Maybe some of your posts weren't deleted because of the subject, but rather the content. There are many different people on this site and we all need to be respectful of each others beliefs and feelings! You and me being Muslim and Christian doesn't make us wrong, it just makes us different from each other. With all that said, I wish you a very Merry Christmas. Rhonda

Hi Tushavi! I'd call Mylot a MultiFaith Mash Up or General Sort Of Mish Mash, GSOMM for short. there are people who are pagan, baha, Jevhovah's Witness's and vary from orthodox to orthodontic (no its not a typo). They all like to play the 'Mines better than yours game' and bicker about it(some of the time).most of the time they're quite a tolerant bunch. If you had made a post starting 'Merry Bah Humbug' or 'Merry Comercialmas' you would probalby get more responses than 'Merry Christmas' Happy Holidays .

Hwo interesting that you respond in this way. I don't think that MyLot is a Christianity based forum but many members are Christians. Do you see the subtle difference? Christmas means many things to many people and the significance isn't always religious but a time that we spend with our friends and our families and a time of gift giving. I'm curious to know if you stopped into any of the forums to wish people a Merry Christmas. You may not have gotten a response to "Eid Mubarak" because people may be like me. I have no idea what that is. If that is a holiday that is of religious significance to you, I hope that you have a safe and happy holy season.

From what I can tell Mylot is very diverse and has many people of all religions. I am a Christian and I respond to almost any topic about Islam in the religion forum and have made some myself. People have responded to some, some they did not. But that's true with any topic. Anyway stop thinking so negatively, mylot is not out to get you.

True Tushavi, when you said "Eid Mubarak" very few responded. First being an international forum, how many understand how to respond to that. And as someone has responded here there are a very few Muslims on the forum to give you an instant natural response.BTB did you say that in connection wit Eid-ul-Zuha that passed? If you did I am sorry I didn't notice anyway belated "EID MUBARAK!!!"
