Did anyone see on the news earlier where a journalist in iraq threw his shoes @ bush? He had to duck both times to keep from getting hit. They said that he said 'this is your goodbye kiss' or something like that when he threw them. I believe he is in jail now & may face up to 2 yrs.

Throwing a shoe may be a big insult but it is an improvement on the way that political disputes have been settled in Iraq in times past. He did not shoot somebody. Maybe in a strange kind of way this act is proof that a civilized democracy is possible in Iraq. Throwing shoes instead of bombs is an improvement.

Yes I saw it. It seemed a bit contrived to me. It seemed to me that Bush was ready for it because he ducked so quickly each time!! I think perhaps it was a set up so that the President doesn't go out looking as bad as some people think of him now. I feel he wants some sympathy and go out looking like a hero!

That could very well be true. Although, with all the high gas prices & this horrilbe economy i have no idea who would look @ him as a hero. lol

Yes you are sooo right. Up here in Canada though are gas prices are lower than they have been in about 2 years. My propane I use to heat my house is the same. I am paying $.59 a litre for it. I have only paid that price 2 years ago when I first got the furnace installed since then the price had gone steadily up. I was so excited to see it down this winter. Good thing too because it is really cold and stormy so far this year. I live near Ottawa, our capital, and it is storming really badly right now!! ICK!

My husband had recorded it early this morning and showed it to me. I was wondering what would happen to the guy. At the time, they hadn't said much. Maybe he'll get fired! That wasn't very professional, no matter how he felt about President Bush.
