Well let's see - disasterious wild fires all summer long, a good sized earthquake (5.5) a few weeks ago (about 50 miles from me) an after shock last week, NOW.....non stop rains since last night midnight - all day, non stop....and we are on storm watch, evacuation sites being set up, two major freeways - I-5 closed due to snow, I-15 at Cajon Pass closed due to snow and the flooding in cities and the mudslides as respondent to the wild fires, and more rain for the rest of the week! Life in California is certainly not boring and not a single celebrity in sight! But it is also snowing, yes I said snowing, in Las Vegas, Nevada too - we are talking middle of the desert with a nice white blanket of snow! Ain't the west coast grand!

I live in Southern California too. I can't believe all of this rain. Tough to complain because we need rain so much. I was in the backyard about five minutes ago and it actually started to hail! When DH and I came home from the gym today around 4:30, it was 42 degreees. Way too cold for SoCal. We've got our heat on for the first time this year and I'm sleeping in sweats. Can't wait for the rain to stop to get that view of the snow covered mountains. Stay dry!

Yeah, we need it so much! I heard on the radio today - this is all my fault. Yesterday's rain fall was 2" and last time it was that high was 1957 - the year I was born!!!! Oh well, can't say I didn't do anything for the water shortage!! I am near the mountains and the snow fill on them is BEAUTIFUL! I walked out of Target today and just stood there and starred - We have had a vew white ones, but this one has to be the most whitest for awhile! Hardly saw any brown at all! Supposed to get another gusher in tomorrow through Thursday and nice till, of course, till Christmas eve day - then rain for the following 2! I kept my slider door open all night that night it rained, I love hearing the sound of the rain! It was so hard, and just sounded so restful! I kept waking up and finally went to thel iving room and just layed down on the couch, pulled up my afghans and just listened to the rain the rest of the night!

KNow exactly where Claremont is - used to work there! THe second storm right now, christmas day and I love hearing hte rain. I hope my son doesn't get snowed in as he is due down again tomorrow! But it'd be cool for him to have a white christmas for his little girl - she'll love it! And aren't those mountains beautiful! Good snow fall means a good water hold for next year!

Same thing for me. I live in the foothills. Claremont actually if you know where that is. To go to work, I can either drive through the Village or take Foothill Blvd. I took Foothill and had the backdrop of the fabulous view of the snow covered mountains. I woke up this morning, looked out my slider, and rain again! Take care and enjoy it while we have it.

I'm glad we are at our winter place, even though it was gray and rainy today. Las Vegas is a bit north of here and we heard they might get snow, but nothing like that down here where it is 53 and dipping though. I will have to decide whether to bring some of the tomatoes in.

My husband is there and he called saying it was snowing. Just sounds odd for snow in Las Vegas - in the desert! But it did snow the year we lived there too, so it isn't unheard of!

They say it is bad from New Jersey to Nevada - with snow storms and such. Doesn't stick in Nevada, but boy back there on the east coast - it is really bad snow storms!
