Have you ever fallen asleep at work?

Today I walked pass a new colleague and found that he fell asleep on his desk, it was around 3.00pm and it was well past lunch hours. I was so amazed that I accidentally kicked on the trash bin and that didn’t even wake him up! I finally had to push him and woke him up and that was quite embarrassing. Have you ever fallen asleep at work? Or your colleagues?

Hello wondericequeen,
No, I haven't. But there's once when I felt very sleepy. I was talking to a customer on the phone but I really couldn't opened my eyes. I was half awake and half sleepy. I dozed off in the middle of the conversation. When I realized it, I heard the other party was still talking -explaining her problem. Lucky she didn't realize that!

I don't know why... but i find it difficult to sleep during the day time... so this sort of thing has never happened to me... i sometimes lie down during lunch break... but never can sleep in full even if my eyes are closed... i guess sleep for is is confined during night time...

Of course no. It's not possible for me to fall asleep when I am working. Even if I am very sleepy, but I can't sleep anyway. The reason is obvious. Boss will be mad at it. If I am really tired, then I will go to the bathroom and have a short break there.

This is very interesting situation.
No, I have not fallen asleep at work. Even when I worked as a receptionist in hotel and had a night shift.
But Your new work colleague probably has a hard adoption period in his life: new job, new environment, maybe new flat and he just celebrated that ownership on the night before!

Never! At one job though, a young man was sleeping at his desk when a high mucky muck came through to make an announcement and he gathered about 30 of us around to stand and listen right on the work floor instead of having us go to the conference room and the kid slept right through it. The boss was about half through his speech when suddenly he noticed this and he looked for a while and then continued speaking, but the next day that kid's door pass did not work, and we never saw him again.

i worked on a night shift as a nurse along with my colleagues and since it wasn't a very busy night, we all fell asleep. I slept on a couch actually. I even had a dream. The next time I woke up, it was sunrise and I realzed that I have missed giving the due medicines for the entire shift. Good thing the medicines were just the ones that you give when a patient has fever. Lucky for me no one had fever the entire night.
